You apply for the star exemption at the Assessor's Office NOT the Town Clerk's Office.  John Mertz (Bumblethru) doesn't even know basic things like that --- despite his degrees and puffed up sense of self-importance.  Mertz is probably the least intelligent person to ever hold public office in Rotterdam   (I still remember the one "work session" held to discuss the water problem in Masullo where Mertz argued with a Hydrologist for 30 minutes --Mertz kept insisting that water could flow naturally UPHILL -- no kidding)

There is absolutely NO REASON to believe the misguided allegations that a twerp like John Mertz (Bumblethru) is already leveling against the town clerk-elect.    Mertz just can't handle the fact that he got dumped by the Republican party ... and then his NNTP/Tea Party got its butt kicked two elections in a row .. so now he is desperate to remain on the political scene by throwing mud and being his usual a-hole self.

The comments made about the TC's office are perfectly in order.

There is no confidentiality AT ALL in the Town Hall...everyone knows what everyone else is doing and it also
includes residents, employees, and TB officials.  All this "talk" leads to misinformation and malicious gossip
and because of who is involved, they make it believable.

The inuendoes and character slander is rapant. ..and these people feed on it...like vultures...  This is why
the former secretary was chastized and eventually left her position...I had no problem with this intelligent
and capable woman working for the Town...that meant she was impartial and did her job the way it was
meant to be....CONFIDENTIALLY/TRUSTWORTHY.  yet, because of this and the gossip, she was not well received by the TH employees, and the TB    and the residents....Very shameful...why?   because she was not born and raised in Rotterdam...didn't have an e i o , at the end of her name????

This is meant by DIVERSITY...and the TH does not know what that means ...if someone else could work in Rotterdam and live in another Town, what was the difference.....

My point is that the new REGIME will be just that...and see what happens when they  take office in January
2012.    Friends and relatives will be put in positions and others just may be left out.  That is why this
government is so corrupt.....that doesn't mean the person is qualified to do the job....just because......

Politics and the "back room" tactics along with "political definitions" aren't my priority....plain old common
sense truthfulness, and honesty...that's what I look for and don't judge a book by its cover...

That is absolutely the truth!!! confidentiality will NOT rein supreme in rotterdam's town hall and the up and coming seniors/boomers are more then aware of that. That's why some are already looking for ways to circumvent the town hall for their needs.

And because of the new rotterdam administration, there will be many 'permit-less' homes being remodeled. There will be many 'permit-less' garage sales. There will be many folks with disabilities that will opt out of medical parking tags cause they don't want their medical condition 'out there'. It's a sad day for rotterdamians.
