By 2:00 pm 150 dinners had been served.  I asked before
I got my take out order.  They were still coming in as I was
leaving.

Rotterdam is a community that comes together to help out neighbors when they are in need.  That is what is nice about living in a place like this.

Sadly - some folks want to destroy that sense of community by questioning the motives of the organizers of the event and making all kinds of nasty comments.

Again - if you are interested in attending and helping out a family in need -- please attend.  If you aren't -- that is your call.   If you fall into the 3rd category -- those nattering nayboobs of negativity who probably would find a reason to criticize Jesus' Second Coming --- do us all a favor and keep your nasty, negative comments to yourself.

Don't blame the problems in rotterdam on the 'community'. The 'community' does just fine by itself in rotterdam. It is thedemocons that have tried to politicize just about everything in that town. The rotterdamians are tired of the democon fear tactic rhetoric....

recap.....People will be dying and bleeding in the streets with out a taxing district for rems!!! There won't be any more police protection unless they build a $14M new building!!! The seniors will be eating cat food if the senior center closes!!! There will be no fire protection in Dist #5 unless they get a $3M new building!!!

And this my cyber friends is the fear tactic rhetoric the rotterdam democons spew daily while politicizing everything!!!

As far as the Rotterdam 'community'....obviously it does just fine on it's own!!!

Obviously, you have reading comprehension problems -- I NEVER blamed the community --- you, John Mertz, are lying and twisting words as usual.

The PROBLEM is the negativity of nayboobs like you - John Mertz - and the rest of the No New Tax Party crowd  .. who spend all your energy tearing down the community.

Don't worry -- the community will survive the negative outbursts of John Mertz and the NNTP and will build the much needed  police station/justice court, the District #5 expansion and will not only keep the senior center open but will - sometime in the next 9 years - build a new MULTI-GENERATIONAL COMMUNITY CENTER to serve the needs of the entire town.

I'm not mertzie....but thanks for the compliment!!

The democons will politicize everything until it is dead in the water. They just don't get it do they? ROTTERDAMIANS CAN'T AFFORD ANY OF THIS!! And yet the democons REFUSE to listen to the community/taxpayers!!! Just go door to door and ask the taxpayers. Many don't even want a democon on their door step!!!

The democons have lost touch with the rotterdam community. They are so hell bent on forwarding their political agendathrough greed, power, corruption and political manipulation that they are not even attempting to listen to the taxpayers.

They refer to the taxpayers as negative whenever the taxpayer rejects another tax increase. They are not pro-community......they are pro-political party! SAD!

You folks are the ones who politicized the event - Mr. Mertz - and YOU refuse to listen to the community/taxpayers.
