The Great Flats is a conservation area that belongs to the town of Rotterdam.  In regards to the down trees, your best bet would be to call the public works department in the town  --- I would NOT recommend that you try to remove the trees yourself.

Yeah, Governmentists like Ron would probably have you fined $100,000 for trying to help out.

Yeah, hence the reason that I asked him a question about this through a private message, AND EXPECTED AN ANSWER THE SAME WAY.  Thanks, Mr. Severson.

You got your answer - I don't answer through private message unless I know the identity of the person on the other end.

Besides the fact that you are a pompous a** -- you are very ill informed.  I have no power to fine any one ... the Parks Commission has no power to fine anyone  .. and I have always encouraged residents to help out --- that would explain why we have co-sponsored 2 Canal Spring Clean up and a very successful Community Day and will be sponsoring Park Clean Up days in the future --  quit complaining, get off your lazy a** and help your community for a change.

And I assume, then, that since you found out about this issue and you represent the town in 2 capacities, then there would be no need for me to let Public Works know, since you, a concerned citizen who is representing the people, would have already sent this along to them, no?  And as far as knowing my identity, I think it's best we keep at arms length for now, hence the reason I didn't include my name.  I would have greatly thanked you for this information if you didn't act all high and mighty, but I guess a leopard can't change its spots.

I don't see where you get off saying I acted all high and mighty -- All I said was that I do NOT use the private message feature except to message persons that I know.  That IS my prerogative and you did get the answer to your question -- so there is no problem.

Bottomline -- I answered your question and since you know the details I encourage you to call the public works department.

Congratulations, again, Mr. Parks and Recreation.  Thanks to you and those in charge, due to down trees, South Schenectady Fire Department spent a few hours attempting to find people lost, this time in the Plotterkill Preserve, thanks to down trees making them go off the trails.  Good thing "Working Together Works" and you and your buddies all got this taken care of before it became an issue.  And by the way, that means that you put people's lives at risk AND now have also cost all the taxpayers of SSFD money in the amount that it cost to run equipment to get out to Plotterkill and any other costs that may have been involved.
