When a county that is the highest taxed in the state and close to #1 in the country, spends a quarter of a million dollars on a little league field in the middle of the worse recession in history............it's got to make one wonder where their priorities are and where the concern for the taxpayers are.

Getting back to the actual topic of the thread ------  the Republicans really did poorly at the Meet the Candidates event ... I don't expect much better from them at the League of Women Voters debate.   Every time the newcomers opened their mouth they proved that they were inexperienced and uniformed ------ and the one GOP incumbent running for town office ... every time he opened his mouth he told us what couldn't be done ----

McGarry, Villano, Tomaselli and Longo only know how to say "it can't be done" ----

On the otherhand,  The  Re-Unite Rotterdam Team has the experience, the knowledge, the plan .. and most importantly -- THE POSITIVE ATTITUDE -- to solve the problems and achieve positive accomplishments.

What did DM say about why she was fired by her DEMS at the senoir gossip center? Has she left City employment yet since she is running for town clerk? We don't need no clerk with education nor private sector business experience. We need another DEM hack who plasters up the most signs.

HERE are FACTS ---- the Democrats are actually LOWERING  tax rates at the county level  (and the GOP majorities on the County Legislature actually RAISED tax rates during the 30 plus years they ran the county) FACTS DON'T LIE!

WE HAVE THE LOWEST TAX RATE SINCE THE MID-FIFTIES THANKS TO THE DEMOCRATIC TEAM! THANK YOU Mr. Santabarbara and Chief Jasenski!

what LOW taxes! We are SOOOOOO fortunate to have the gumbahs run thing!

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Things are better than 8 years ago?-lol. Back than we had a fiscal Conservative County Manager, lower crime rate, lower taxes, higher property resale values, a Metrograft that actually brought in jobs from out of County and no double garbage tax in the City. Thank you working together DEM morons and your 3 running dogs here. Keep working together to chase out every job creator and small business person.

there is NO proof ANYWHERE that proves that these businesses would or would not have moved into schenectady without metroplex/gillen....right?

The only thing that could come close to proof is that the metroplex/gillen lured ALL of these businesses into schenectady with bribes and promises of tax paid grants, low/no interest loans, with a tax exempt status.

If that is the only proof, and it appears to be the case........then it is a fraud. A false sense of economic security. Which again has benefited the select few while over taxing the already overtaxed residents.

I don't think being one of the highest taxed counties in the country and the highest in the state is considered a SUCCESS.

It appears that McCarthy/Gillen should be lowering taxes instead of raising them. The status quo will not fly.
