Just a reminder that according to US Tax Code -- churches should not be engaged in partisan political activity -- and should NOT be allowing political signs to be placed on their property.

Well, they shouldn't be allowed on school property, either, but they are there, too.  They AREN'T allowed on public land, but they're there.

Far as I'm concerned they shouldn't be allowed anywhere. Want to get your message out? Radio, TV, Newspaper, internet public forum. Not on the freakin' roads. Geez how many times do I need to see that Diane Marco is running for town clerk. I' m not stupid Diane after 1 sign the message is clear. More than 1 you lost my vote.

Can we write in Mickey Mouse?

Putting a career politician into this office is the biggest mistake residents can make.

If it turns out that there's no one else running for town clerk I will be writing in "a pig", because frankly I would rather vote for a pig than someone running unopposed who still feels the need to litter the landscape with those freakin' signs.

Also, I don't know specifically which church Ron is talking about, but I have seen them at OLQOG.  I'm not afraid to name names.

But then again, I'm wondering... did they allow them to be placed there, or did the politicos just decide there were none there, so they could put their own there?  Sort of like all the signs at the Republican club, and at Fort Hunter Park?

Diane Marco is one of the finest and most kind and caring individuals one could ever meet. I have never met a soul who doesn't approve of her. She cares deeply about the frail and the not-so-frail seniors and has been there every step of the way for each and every First Responder ....and Police Officer in our community.

There is no sense and there would be no justice in any decision to run a challenger against her.. yet I would defend her to the death and I would defend her right to place those signs anywhere--- with every ounce of fiber in my being. So take off your stinky diaper and go screw a goat. No one cares about your whiny baby self---anyway!

I'm sure she is, and to be truthful I'm pretty sure I've met her somewhere some other time. I do suffer from CRS so I'm just not sure.
But you did miss the whole point. The post wasn't about an indvidualpoliticalpartytheologyideologyorpersonality...... I DON'T LIKE THOSE FREAKIN' SIGNS. ....You don't need to put one every two feet throughout the town to get your message across. Anybody who puts one more than one a mile apart is either an ego-maniac or stupid!! Common sense would tell you that one sign would let folks know who's running for what. But I forgot that common sense politician is an oxymoron not unlike military intelligence.

Well if that's the case then I would expect the signs to go away. Otherwise what would be the point? Ego, stupidity? You tell me.

The Problem is... Name Recognition Works.  Plastering a campaign name all over the city is the quickest way to reach the most people for the least money.

philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

I have seen signs from candidates of all parties improperly placed on church property.   Churches should be neutral ground at ALL times -- but especially during a political campaign.

BTW- that also includes church cemeteries -- so if any appear along the road by a certain cemetery on Hamburg Street -- regardless of whose signs they may be -- they will go in the garbage.

Uh ok I'll take the high road here and not resort to cheap shots. (left yourself wide open for one)

I don't know this person and since I haven't seen one of those name recognition things sporting her name she's got my vote.

Whewww!!!! Well there's one race I don't have to worry about.

So now you are making threats against local houses of worship where candidates' supporters threw up signs. I am making 500 copies of your post to go out to a few of the parishes. How is that?

Headline:

"DEMOCRAP PARTY OFFICIAL THREATENS LOCAL CHURCHES FOR SIGNS ON RIGHT OF WAYS!"

You find new lows to sink to all the time, Ron Severson.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

and who's the genius who came up with that one. "Hey let's plaster entire roadsides with these stupid f**king signs. No matter that people speeding by in their cars might possibly drive into some poor sap on foot. 'Cause we gotta have name recognition." "Why officer I never saw the geezer on the side of the road who I just squashed with a ton and a half of speeding metal. Name recognition that's my defense."

Geeezzz!! I'm spent.

No one threatened the houses of worship --- so go ahead and lie all you want.
