At the risk of opening a real can of worms, and realizing too, that most of the threads on these boards usually end up in "left/right, liberal/conservative, democrat/republican" rhetoric. I'm still curious enough to ask the question: When do you folks think politics in this town became such a cesspool?
I looked back and was surprised to learn that since 1821 most of the town supervisors served 1 or 2 and in a few cases 3 terms. John Kirvin was the first to serve more than 3, 1967-1983(although his first stint as super 1958-1963 was 3 terms). Then of course Constantino also had a long run. Since then, the last three supers have all had 2 terms not including the one currently in office.

So when do you think things began to go bad. Pre Constantino, during his reign, or sometime after? Just curious.

BTW Just as an aside, I knew Jim C. as a kid, played sports etc. Years later when he became supervisor I asked a mutual friend what he thought of him, and the words, "Pompous a**!" were used.

the current supervisor has only been elected to 1 term --- and his chances of being elected to a second term are somewhere between slim and none

Right on point again TOWN CLOWN!  Where did he ask about the current supervisor....what a useless dork!!!!

Alias, I remember Jim too, and quite honestly he had a reputation as a fathead in school too.  What surprises me is that outside of school I knew him and he didn't fit the reputation whenever I was around him. Too bad that he screwed up and believed his own hype...he might have had an opportunity to do something good.

JUST BECAUSE SISSY SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO...BUT HE THINKS IT DOES!!!!!

Rotterdam has been run like a mafia town for decades upon decades. I think we can all agree on that one. Unfortunately, it has become generational and even incestual. HOWEVER.........there are new folks in rotterdam now. Smart, intelligent, educated folks who can see right through the 'horse head on the pillow' act!!

From what I see and hear from rotterdam, the dems are just the same old regurgitated names and faces that continue the same way of 'doing business as usual'. It's time for 'new names and faces'. Time to change the way rotterdam does business!! It's time!!

Time to stop drinking septic water.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

It's been going downhill for sometime. Known for nepotism and electing the worst candidate to any position. It's so bad now that even the press doesn't want to cover it. Gives everyone a headache even those paid to report on it.
