Fence blocks access to neglected burial plot
BY JUSTIN MASON Gazette Reporter

Even if someone wanted to care for the remainder of the Teller family plot, they’d have a tough time doing it.
Dense foliage and an earthen berm obscure the Revolutionary War-era plot, which is located behind a guide rail put up near the former entrance to the Great Flats Nature Trail on Schemerhorn Road. Accessing the plot from either neighboring property would be easier, but a four-foot high chain-link fence blocks the way.
Schemerhorn Road resident Marjorie Schmid used to tend to the plot occasionally and even plant flowers near the one gravestone still standing. Only with the fence blocking her passage from her nearby carriage house home, she's left to watch the plot slowly succumb to the dense vegetation that is characteristic of the preserve.
Schmid has complained to the town about the fence in the past, and even gotten hollow promises that it would be removed one day. She's even considered having someone help her cut a segment out, considering that it’s pretty much a pointless barrier.
“The fence serves absolutely no purpose,” she said. ..............................>>>>............................>>>>.......................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01501&AppName=1

It cant be too forgotten when even the family knows its there.  Its sad that she cant tend to it and no one else will.
