(CBS News) NEW ORLEANS - The audience reception for President Obama and Paul Ryan at
Friday's AARP convention couldn't have differed more: Obama won cheers for discussing the health
care law, while Ryan drew the most aggressively negative response he has faced as a GOP vice
presidential candidate for vowing to repeal it.
The audience of several thousand clearly came down on Obama's side. Despite Ryan's exhortations
that the president had "turned Medicare into a piggy bank for Obamacare" - a claim that fact-checking
watchdogs have judged to be largely false -- he was met with a loud round of boos and cries
of "no!" as he pledged to repeal the health care reform law, which AARP as an organization supported.

No big surprise... the AARP was in bed with the Obama administration from the beginning on ObamaCare and stands to make BILLIONS more providing gap insurance. And the Obama administration conveniently provided a waiver to Medigap providers, which AARP is the biggest, from oversight on premium increases, which all other insurance companies are subject to.

AARP....a union for the boomers....now ain't that funny....the previous generation didn't have such things.....
today we even have 'Boomer Expos'.....concerts, viagra, youth serum etc etc.....

AARP ceased to be an advocate for seniors when they got into the insurance business both house/car and health-care insurance.

Mitt Romney now infamously said this of his wife, ”We use Ann sparingly right now,
so that people don’t get tired of her.” Of course, Mitt probably knows his spouse best, but
she seems charming enough, right? She certainly luuuuuuuuuuuuuves women! Well, as it
turns out, the fear might not be that we’ll get tired of her as much as the fact that she’ll
get tired of us, demonstrably so.

In an interview with Radio Iowa, Ann Romney had this to say to Republicans who have been
critical of the floundering Romney presidential campaign (emphasis added):

“Stop it. This is hard. You want to try it? Get in the ring,” she said. “This is hard and, you
know, it’s an important thing that we’re doing right now and it’s an important election and
it is time for all Americans to realize how significant this election is and how lucky we are
to have someone with Mitt’s qualifications and experience and know-how to be able to have
the opportunity to run this country.”

every time there's an election it's 'SIGNIFICANT'.....

Might be a great idea but it's also irrelevant in today's politics.

Should Sen. Democratic leader Harry Reid follow in the footsteps of GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney by releasing his 2011 tax return?

Dave Buell, chairman of the Washoe Country Republican party in Mr. Reid's political backyard of Nevada, certainly thinks so.

"Senator, make our day and release your 2011 tax return," he said in an email blast Friday evening.

Citing an anonymous source, Mr. Reid has repeatedly claimed in recent weeks that Mr. Romney "didn't pay taxes for 10 years."

Mr. Romney countered that over the past ten years he never paid less than 13 percent of his taxable income and that "Harry Reid's charge is totally false."

Shortly after Mr. Romney released the additional tax information, Mr. Buell blasted out the email calling for Mr. Reid to come clean and release hits tax records "so that all Nevadans can see that he is paying his fair share." He added, "In addition, Mr. Reid should explain to all of us how he became a millionaire on a bureaucrat's salary. Mitt Romney earned his money by investing in companies, people and creating jobs in the private sector while Harry Reid made his money by taking money from the private sector and redistributing it through government."

Mr. Buell also pointed out that Nevada has had the highest unemployment rate in the country.

Were the deductions legal, if they were and you don't like it get the legislature to change the tax code.
