Poll Shocker! A new Washington Post/ABC poll shows Mitt Romney now ahead among registered voters 49 to 46%. Obama has dissipated his Bin Laden bounce as concerns about his recession and deficit reach all time highs. Obama's support has also tanked 10 points among 18-29 voters concerned about poor job prospects.

Mitt Romney is the only one ahead of Obama at this early stage.point. All the other REPS are at 40-41% which is competitive. The best news is that young people and independents have finally woken up the the incumbent incompetent. Anybody but Obama.

Polls mean nothing at this point.. Otherwise Carter would have beaten Reagan and GHWB would have won a second term. People vote their pocket books the vast majority of the time, and if the economy and jobs stay where they are, Obama is screwed...unless the 'pubs nominate someone from the the extreme right of the party. Wait and see..Obama will reduce the troops in Afghanistan and Iraq in significant fashion because that's the ONLY thing he can point to. He can't on the Economy and he can't on national debt. Although the Dems like box will blame Bush, the independents won't.. and they make the difference in elections now.

By the time Obama gets done trying to defend his record on the economy, jobs, health-care, and energy policies he won't be able to beat a drum.

Obama couldn't be re-elected dog catcher. The fact is a generic REP gets 45% of the vote. As the economy and his nit wit foreign policy keeps unraveling he will keep tanking in every poll.

At this point 4 years ago Hillary and Rudy were leading. What's significant is how independents and youth vote have left him. No jobs+record gas prices=No more Obama!

To be accurate Benny... You have to give the "record gas prices award" to none other than GEORGE WORST BUSH!
Other than on this board... Americans know that fact.

Really?

Then they went back down. Average retail Gas Price 1/09 $1.83
                                                                              NOW $3,95   A 115.8% increase under Obama!

At least when they went up under Bush he did something about it to decrease them . He didn't say I want them to go up more and want to buy oil from Brazil.

New Hampshire Debate: Mitt Romney Untouched By Rivals, Goes On Offense Against Obama
First Posted: 06/13/11 10:12 PM ET Updated: 06/13/11 11:55 PM ET

MANCHESTER, N.H. –- Mitt Romney waltzed off the stage after his first presidential primary debate here Monday night with the huge red and white target on his back completely untouched.

The former Massachusetts governor entered the seven-person debate having extended his lead in the polls over the last week, and he did nothing during the two-hour quiz show to impede that trend. The fact that the six other candidates didn't lay a paw on him helped.

The defining moment came 25 minutes in, when former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty was asked about his criticism just 24 hours earlier of Romney's health care law in Massachusetts. Pawlenty had called it ObamneyCare on "Fox News Sunday," but when asked to expand on that criticism, he scrambled for cover.

During his response, Pawlenty criticized President Obama, who he said modeled the federal health care overhaul on Romney's state program. CNN's John King, the moderator, stepped in to remind him of the question.

"Why would you choose those words in the comfort of a Sunday show studio? Your rival is standing right there," King asked............................>>>>........................>>>>....................http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/06/13/new-hampshire-debate-romney-untouched_n_876380.html

Wow!  The last Romney For President post was on Aug 25th!

Gingrich holds a small edge over Romney in acceptability, 61% to 54%.

"The goal of Team Romney in the coming weeks:
Spend big bucks to raise Gingrich's negatives, and hope he'll fade like the other candidates who enjoyed their time
in the spotlight.  It's becoming clear that Romney isn't able to win the Republican nomination, but can prevail if all his
rivals self-destruct and he's left as the last candidate standing."
