Study: New York loses 34,300 jobs under NAFTA

According to the Economic Policy Institue, about 86,500 jobs in California were displaced from 1994 to 2010 as a result of trade deficits with Mexico that came about because of Nafta.

U.S.-Mexico trade since the adoption of the North American Free Trade Agreement has displaced 682,900 U.S. jobs, with New York state having lost 34,300 jobs since the controversial pact was put in place.
New York state's job deficit under NAFTA is the fifth most. California has lost the most jobs — 86,500, according to a report from the Economic Policy Institute, a Washington, D.C.-based think tank.
