Yeah, they lowered taxes. OK then.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

The County Dems lowered county tax rates  .. and have had a balanced budget every year.
And the City Democrats inherited the mess from 12 years of GOP Mayors that drove the city into the hole.

Under the REPS this County had a 4% sales tax. It was a well manged County with a tight budget. People from other counties actually shopped here. Now under the Savage/DEMS 8.25% sales tax! They will probably try to increase it again to fund their County Home madness.

The City has been run into the ground by 35 straight years of DEMS City Councils. The Mayor only proposes a budget the Council amends then approves it. Everything is worse under the DEM implosion team; crime rate, roads, tax rate, schools, parks. When there is no elected REP go back 35 years to try to blame someone else.

The democon slate will be nothing more than the same old same old names and faces that have floating around for decades.

Finally the reps are putting forth fresh faces/names and new blood!! And the electorate is lovin' it!!

Schenectadians can expect an all out blood bath in this election year. The democons know they are in trouble of losing control of their self serving friends and family club empire!! Their gravy train will be OVER!!!

Independent lines are popping up and the reps are the only ones that recognize that the electorate is changing in that direction. At least they are listening!!

Actually it was under the GOP County Leg that county tax rates rose to the record high levels and allowed downtown Schenectady and the surrounding municipalities to stagnate economically .... the Democratic controlled County Leg has at least tightened the financial reins to keep the county property tax level (with a few small decreases over the past 5 years) and have allowed for economic development projects such as RailEx,  the Price Chopper Frozen Food warehouse, the incredible resurgence of downtown, and a variety of other projects all around the county.

BTW -- what has Hugh Farley .. a Republican done to help undo the unfunded state mandates that burden local and county government -- the answer NOTHING except vote over 500 times for more unfunded state mandates and tax increases.

I'd say he's done about the same amount as Paul Tonko, so I guess they're even.

Except that Paul Tonko is no longer in the State Legislature and therefore can't do anything about unfunded state mandates    ...............and  Useless Hugh Farley  is still in the State Senate and still doing NOTHING except  collecting his paycheck and taking taxpayer funded state vacations.

Reject the DEM recycles with no regrets.

It doesn't matter who the democons endorse. The electorate ain't buyin' it anymore. They have had just about enough of the failed two party system. The independent lines are gaining support daily!! Between the over spending and the spitting matches within parties........the independent lines are lookin' good!!!

So far the Alliance and the NNTP independent lines are the only ones focused and not falling apart like both the 2 major parties. Their desire appears only to serve and make a positive difference for the taxpayers and community........not to 'self serve'!!!

I'll give you credit, you're right on that, he's not in the Assembly anymore, and can't take care of any statemandates. Let's look at what he did since he decided to up and leave the Assembly.  First, he decided to not leave on a normal schedule, thereby costing taxpayers the price of a special election over a county and a half.  Next, he went and deserted his dream job to move to D.C., where he is now proud to say howmany times he travels back and forth (raising the amount of money and the size of his carbon footprint) doing the people's work, now approving unconstitutional legislation at the federal level.  (By the way, when Tonko was in the Assembly, how many times did he vote against those mandates?)  What has he done, when the Democrats were in power in D.C. to reduce the federal mandates?  I believe the appropriate answer to that is NOTHING.
