I agree Better... The only race Paul should be interested is the Republican Primary.

Perhaps they follow Reagan's 11th Commandment:
"Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican."

Most of this thread seems so of topic in my opinion. People on here are arguing Paul vs. Obama, when they should be discussing Paul Vs. the rest of the Republican field which he will need to conquer first. Please tell me why paul is better than Romney, Bachman, and Pawlenty.... The numerous reasons you believe Paul is better than Obama aren't going to help you get him into an election with Obama. Paul's supporters need to take their gloves off and take on the hypocrisy practiced by his republican competition and get through the primaries first.

We need to challenge Obama also since it is Obama who lied about many of his campaign promises, the latest Rasmussen poll showed that against Paul some Obama voters would choose Paul over him, that's says a lot. As far as the other republican candidates go with the exception of Gary Johnson Paul is the only one that believes in a non-interventionist foreign policy, the others are warhawks like Obama and Bush.

With domestic and foreign policy no other candidate could come close to the limited government philosophy Paul brings to the table. Being a strict constitutionalist he votes with the law of the land and he has the record to prove it, even when it was unpopular to vote a single way he stuck by his guns. What separates him the most is his Libertarian belief, social issues is where you will see the main differences between him and the others. Take for example the war on drugs, most Republicans still support the prohibition of the failed drug war, Paul however believes it is up to the individual to make the right choices for themselves. In a free society a persons body is his property and it is up the that person to regulate it how they see fit not the government. Nobody here has ever known true freedom, there was always laws in place that would prohibit your actions even if it effected nobody else. Laws should be to protect others rights and to charge those who violate another's rights, what we have today is what some may call a nanny state, pretty much the government knows what it right for you.

Good post Henry, the video showed alot of the obvious BS pulled by the Republican and Democratic hierarchy. Going back to my last post though, I will rephrase my complaint. It is ok and beneficial for Paul supporters to attack Obama. At the same time though if they continue to have a muted response to the injustices done by the republican establishement and their canidates that are running against him I don't see him gaining the traction he will need to get through the primary's. All the conservatives will hate this comparison, but take it with an open mind, Paul needs to Obama the republican canidates! He needs to get the grass roots behind him and hit the main stream republicans right in their faces. He needs to call them out for their BS. Mitt Romney in his personal life  got rid of tons of American jobs, Bachman should be called the nut she is, and so on. While I wish it is was possible for him to win on merit alone, he's gonna have to get down and dirty with his rivals, now, and not wait until they can make the argument that he can't win, which they are already trying to do. Anyways that's just my opinion, thanks for the video.

Paul was speaking out against a war in Iraq in 1998... Republicans voted for Bush in 2000.
Bush went to war in Iraq... in 2004, Republican voted again for Bush.
In 2008 Paul was on the Republican Primary ballot in 7 states. Republicans voted for McCain.

Those same Republicans (and some new ones) who ignored Paul for the last 14 years, are still ignoring Ron Paul.
Paul's 'anti war' sentiment is a Democrat issue... never in my lifetime, a Republican one.

Many on the left were very motivated during the Bush administration in calling for an end. Libertarians on the right seemed to be the only ones on the right who were equally motivated back then. It seemed though as Obama was elected many of the anti-war protesters seemed to disperse on the left, many I believe are still holding out hope but sadly they will be let down, the other half played the war issue for politics only. Those who truly believe in a non-interventionist approach will be voting for Paul and that number is increasing on the right. With all the chaos going on with our economy and threats about default more people are looking at our policies, especially with our interventions overseas and foreign aid.

Henry,
Republicans have been traditionally 'hawks' on this issue.  Paul is alone among major Republican candidates in his opposition to Iraq, Afghanistan type interventions.
IMO the war issue is a 'core issue' among Republicans, right up there with Abortion and Gun Control and new taxes.  For Paul to win he needs to win the Republican Primary...

Isn't Ron Paul is asking Republicans to vote against one of their basic core issues?

Both sides are hawks and the people need to wake up to this and I think they are, the left may talk about the issue but once they're in power we see it was only lip service. Paul's campaign isn't about parties it is about an idea that hopefully enough people can unite behind.

America's been in a perpetual war since 1991.  The Republican "hawk" and Democrat "dove" is a fallacy that the public has accepted as a reality.  Ron Paul is doing a great job at exposing the facts and truth about the two party lie.

Ron Paul's position is not "anti-war", but rather non-interventionalist.  His position is akin to that of our Founding Fathers
who cautioned that the United States should not interfere in the internal affairs of sovereign nations.  Most of the
Founders supported the establishment of trade relations with other countries, but not military alliances.  This was their
position despite receiving military assistance from France to achieve independence from Britain.

I also agree that Paul supporters should be focusing on the republican primary.
I have been a registered blank all of my life..............I am now a registered republican so I can vote in the nys republican presidential primary! I would encourage everyone else who support Paul to do the same!
