I'm not a Republican but if Paul gets through to the main election I would vote for him. To bad it's gonna be the governor of Texas who will get the nomination.

George Worst Bush, undoubtedly the Worst US President in history, yet an alternative, Ron Paul was barely noticed in his run to replace Bush. (<1%)

Barack Hussein Obama, (said to be a Socialist) and many Republicans consider him the Worst US president ever... yet today as an alternative to what Bush offered, to what the GOP candidates offer or to what Barack Hussein Obama offers, Ron Paul still hardly notices.(polls around 7%).

It would appear that no matter how bad the Republican, no matter how bad the Democrat... Paul is still not the answer.

It's tough to break through the 100 years of public school indoctrination and state controlled media force feeding information to the nation.  The Democrat and Republican Party are very powerful organizations that have controlled the stream of information reaching the general public for decades.  As you clearly point out, Paul's poll numbers are INCREASING, even in the face of establishment opposition and the virtual blackout of Ron Paul in print and broadcast media.  The more Americans gain access to the internet, the more Americans begin opening their eyes to reality.

That's why the Washington DC establishment is running around scared shitless, because Paul's numbers are going up without the assistance of the state run media.

Paul is doing just fine, and he knows it.

This one is pretty funny

When your candidate is losing... and has been losing for the last few decades... you invent CONSPIRACY THEORIES to show why he is still losing after all this time in the public eye.

Paul Gaining in the polls...(The only place you'll find that data is here and on RonPaul.com)

To view how Ron Paul (and the rest) are doing in the polls for the last year and a half, this site gives each poll, plus an average of all the polls together.

What I DO like about Ron Paul, and other fringe candidates who run for office...

Ron Paul, Ralph Nader and others are admirable in that they stick to their message.  The platform hasn't changed much from it's original dogma.  They are unswayed by polls or by public opinion, they are believers and for good or for bad, they are faithful preachers of their faith.
The easy road for both candidates would be to sell a few minor planks in the ship to buy some acceptance in the mainstream... but both have stood for their values no matter what their opposition or their results.

Probably both have had a positive influence n our overall political landscape.

Huh

What does a name have to do with his beliefs or his stance on policies?

What your realclearpolitics poll doesn't show is committed voters. Last article I read about the NH primary is that only 8% of eligable voters have even committed to a candidate.  So even if Romney polled 35%, that's 35% of the 8% of total likely primary voters that committed. That's not a promising statistic.  This is a WIDE OPEN race, and Paul's a player and the establishment knows it.

Whether Paul wins or not, they need his supporters, they are a LARGE and GROWING number.

The poll said that 8 percent of voters have definitely decided on who to support and 17 percent are leaning to a candidate, but that 75 percent were still trying to decide...

Well sadly Paul has announced he will not be seeking re-election for congress. Good news is he is putting all is effort into the 2012 presidential campaign, pretty much all the chips are in and this is do or die, LETS GET IT DONE.

Ronald Reagan was the oldest US president, elected at the age of 69.  We all remember how Reagan faded as the job overwhelmed him.  By his second term Reagan was already suffering from Alzheimer's disease.

Ron Paul will be 77 when he takes office if elected in 2012... already the age that Reagan was when he left office.
Paul is a spry young man for a soon to be 76year old but as with Reagan... time waits for no man.

The last term of Reagan's presidency was administered by Reagan aids, staff and his cabinet... none of whom were elected.  Something to consider when you vote in '12.

Death is something you must always consider when picking a president, take JFK for example, that is why the vice president must also be looked at closely before voting. While not set in stone when Paul was asked who he would consider as a VP he mentioned Andrew P Napolitano as someone he liked. I always liked him so to me he would be a trust worthy pick, he shares many of the same beliefs as me and has fought against many abuses from our government.

There is never a guarantee that a president will live through his entire term, either dying by accident, assassination or disease.
BUT
There are some diseases that are age related and are incapacitating (as with Reagan's Alzheimers) that leave a president conscious, functioning to some extent, and still not able to lead or make rational important decisions that concern us all.
Reagan's disease was apparent at the beginning of his second term, and progressed especially in his 6th and 7th year in office... yet he wasn't replaced by the VP.

Just as "age" is a factor when a candidate is too young and considered inexperienced, so can "age" be an issue at the other end of the spectrum.  You could vote for a young inexperienced 35 year old in '12, or you could vote for the oldest president in US History in Paul... but it is an important factor when deciding your vote for President.

I agree with that Box, Obama's Alzheimers kicked in as soon as he took office and we see what this has led to, forgotten campaign promises There is never a guarantee on what will happen but we must stand by our principles when voting or else the vote is meaningless.
