The Republican Party is not an arm of Government... it's JUST A POLITICAL PARTY. They can vote to change their rules if they choose. Ron Paul's Chance to BEAT the Mitt! Today in Indiana, North Carolina and West Virginia Ron Paul will go 'one on one' against Mitt Romney. The two REPUBLICANS will go head to head, with all other candidates out of the race. Judging by the support for Paul on this board, if it truly represents the voters, Ron Paul will win by at least a 30% margin. Maybe 40%, if all the RP Groupies get out and vote. BUT If Ron Paul loses... ??? Not possible, just watch a few posted videos of the crowds of RP supporters. Tomorrows headlines: "RON PAUL BEATS MITT IN A LANDSLIDE!"

In the latest poll from Rasmussen Reports, presidential candidate Ron Paul is tied with President Obama among likely voters. Each candidate earns forty-two percent of the vote in this hypothetical match-up.

Another poll from Rasmussen is just as encouraging for Congressman Paul and is a huge downer for President Obama. In a three-way match-up between Paul, Obama, and Mitt Romney, the Republican candidates are favored by fifty-seven percent of likely voters. In this poll, Governor Romney beats President Obama by five percentage points, despite the fact that a third party candidate is in the mix. Romney leads Obama forty-four to thirty-nine percent. Congressman Paul comes in at thirteen percent in this poll.

Texas Congressman Ron Paul appears more interested in influencing the direction of the Republican Party than in running as an independent presidential candidate. But perhaps Democrats should be careful what they wish for: Even if Mitt Romney’s remaining GOP challenger should run as a third party candidate, new Rasmussen Reports surveying finds Romney the winner of a three-way race.
The latest national telephone survey shows that 25% of Likely U.S. Voters think Paul should run as a third party candidate. Sixty-one percent (61%) disagree, but 13% more are not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
The national survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted on May 6-7, 2012 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
