Ron Paul so far, is just one of the 'also rans' in this election.  Politics change daily so anyone can be nominated under the right circumstances...
Paul has about as much chance of being the Republican nominee as many others... but that chance is probably in the 1 to 5% range.
Running for, or potential candidates for the Republican Primary:
Herman Cain
Newt Gingrich
Gary Johnson
Fred Karger
Andy Martin
Tim Pawlenty
Mitt Romney
Jonathon Sharkey
Roy Moore
Buddy Roemer
Rick Santorum
also Giuliani, Huckabee, Palin, Bachmann, etc etc etc.
I've seen much more press and tv time on Ron Paul than on many of these candidates.  Are they all being 'shut out' of the primary???  Is it a 'conspiracy' to keep Paul's message from being heard???
Or is Ron Paul just one more fringe candidate in  a pool of many?

Ron paul is a fringe candidate. But a candidate non the less. AND a candidate that should be overwhelming being supported by the tea party.......not palin or bachmann.

If the tea party does NOT support and stand behind Paul.........than the tea partiers are nothing more than the arm of the rep party.

I personally believe that it will be the 'real tea party patriots' that will stand behind Paul. The others will just be rep party supporters.

YUP! So now you get it.
The Tea Party is owned by wealthy Conservatives like the Koch Bros.  The 'myth' of a grass roots group of dedicated Conservatives is long past.

In the 2008 Republican Primary/Caucus:
~ Paul received over 15% of the vote in 9 states... South Dakota, Idaho, Pennsylvania, Washington, Alaska, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota and Maine... winning none.
~Mike Huckabee had over 15% in 24 states, winning 8 of them.
~Romney won over 15% of the vote in 29 states winning 11 states.

Paul still beats the same drum as he did in '08... although the situation has changed, Paul's message has stayed pretty much the same.   If you didn't vote for Paul in '08, why would you change your mind in '12?

The conservative electorate has become much more educated with regard to the communist trend in this country and, more
importantly, exactly how it has been happening and what must be done to reverse it....they are beginning to realize that
Paul had it right last time and they are now flocking to his camp...they have learned to recognize "neo-cons" purposely promoted
by a liberal media that have produced literal "catch 22" elections...a choice between what is perceived as the lesser of two evils.

Unlike liberal socialists, conservatives not only get it, but they will reject this trend...and they will be the ones to provide liberals
with the inherent advantage of saving liberals from themselves.

If that statement is true... they are keeping it a secret from the polls.

If you are a Ron Paul supporter, and don't like the trends that show Paul as a fringe candidate... You Blame the Media!
~Every downturn or setback is the result of Mainstream Media Bias against Paul.
~Every success or victory for Paul is the result of America discovering Paul's message and converting to Paul's  team.

If you removed all the conspiracy theories from Paul's campaign... there would be little left!

Actually, part of the reason that Paul doesn't show up better in the polls is because of the rules that push the polls, then the media uses solely the poles, and nothing about actual voter sentiment.

Did you know that it is not allowed to have pollsters call cell phone numbers?  And it appears that the conservative base has done more, maybe in saving their own money, to turn off land lines and go solely with cell phones, therefore the rules of the poles will not show this category of voters.  I'm not saying that 100% of people in this situation would be voting for Paul or the like, but there is a greater majority that would.

Not to mention most GOP polls only count registered republicans not independents or democrats, other polls don't even list him as a candidate so you can see the bias there. Those where they do list him he does very well.

They SHOULD only count Registered Republicans when they are polling a Republican Primary, and exclude Democrats and Independents.
In most states (like NY) only "Registered Republicans" can vote in a Republican Primary.

How many people are switching parties and how many are registering for the first time to vote Paul are polled?  I've talk to people I work with that were young Democrats and big supporters of Obama in 08 that are switching to Paul. One specifically cited the reason for his switch was because his cousin was being deployed to Afghanistan, now he's a HUGE Paul supporter.

Independents are going to play a massive role this time around and this is where Paul will get much support. We have 2 people on this board alone who are switching their party just to vote for Paul, there maybe more than that here, make it 3 Box

I, personally, can not, make my decisions based on what the media outlets, both liberal and conservative spew. I can't continually be swayed by polls. The GOP is putting up idiots and fox is carrying the water for them. imo.............and obama is not a choice for me.

I, personally, can not change the two party system as it stands nor can I , personally, change the way the media reports news.

All I can do personally, is support and vote for who I think will be the better candidate.

And for me that is Ron Paul!

Paul lost my vote with his statement on the Civil Rights act of '64.
Paul hasn't changed his mind... neither have I.
