DelGallo’s done plenty, but not much good

The March 10 Spotlight News quoted Rotterdam’s Supervisor Frank Del Gallo as saying, “I actually did more in one year than the last three supervisors did in 10!” If he sincerely believes this, our problems are greater then we thought!
The shuttling around of four employees and abrupt dismissal of a fifth, with no reason or explanation, has everyone walking on eggshells! Add to that his appointed deputy Bob Godlewski’s daily presence in his newly created private offi ce, a former conference room.
At all public meetings, Del Gallo has Joseph Liccardi, an out-of-town lawyer, sitting at his right, directing his every move and word like a puppeteer. Godlewski is at his left, ever-ready to answer any question in windy and convoluted detail!
Every resolution is passed by a roll call by the clerk! Small wonder meetings have run over five hours! Whatever happened to parliamentary procedure and Robert’s Rules?
At Del Gallo’s first organizational meeting, Jan. 1, 2010, one of the many resolutions stated that I had handed in my resignation from the Conservation Advisory Council and they had appointed a replacement. Surprise to me and all other members! Next meeting, I was reinstated!
At this year’s Jan. 1 meeting, they tried again and announced the town would withhold from me the $300 yearly stipend [former Supervisor] Steve Tommasone had given all members after attending our meetings.
This was found to be illegal, so it fell through. At no time was there been any form of communication with me — I read it in the paper!
Am I to believe that, at 86, with no party affiliation, I am a threat to their hold on power?

I'm glad to see Ms. Schmid is still doing well, kicking butt and taking no hostages!

Mrs. Schmid:

Anyone who does not agree with the current regimes "way of thinking" is a threat.....
They do very well at micromanagement, but really suck at looking at the bigger
picture facing the town.  Hitler and Napoleon are self serving hypocrites with personal vendettas,
axes to grind and overall stupidity.  This is probably (among other reasons) FDG
will not see one endorsement from any party.....Thankfully!  Come January 1, 2012, he
can go back to digging holes, serve the crapiest food on the planet, and keep up
Brokeback Mountain!

Do the residents REALLY CARE who is walking on eggshells at TH?  I'm no fan of FDG, but let’s get real and realize that a few disgruntled employees do not define an administration.   I could find other reasons to discredit the FDG administration - but can we PLEASE stop with the whiney Town employees being the barometer for an administration?

Is Ms Schmid saying that no one on this volunteer advisory board never received a stipend before tommasone? And if it would save the taxpayer's money to pull that money back seems fair to me. HOWEVER..........................why didn't they think of saving the taxpayers some money by lowering EE's salary during the budget process? If yer gonna do it for some....ya better do it for ALL....no?

one is not more equal than another------elected or otherwise.....

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
