The West Rotterdam Meal Site Celabrated 30 years of meal service today

Our Supervisor who is soooo senior centric could not remember to bring before the Town Board a proclamation get it passed and present it at todays meal

hell he could not even remember to do it on his own - because he thinks he can

I was in attendance at the celabration and it was quite interesting

Supervisor, Deputy Supervisor and Ex-Senior Center Dept Head in attendance - tension anyone

Ms. Marco was asked to speak and she spoke a few kind words

THEN

FDG followed with "Ditto, ...........Congrats"

so remember when you go out and vote this November dont vote for a "Ditto Head"

I know Senders close that too.....

Nobody else on the town board thought to do it in advance either?

Shame on them all.

what the hell is a 'west rotterdam meal site'? We just called some folks in rotterdam and no one knew or ever heard of it? Perhaps there is another name for this? Please forgive our ignorance here!

So what is it, old people are mostly stupid, lazy, poor or crippled? They either forgot how to cook, are too lazy too cook, are too poor to afford food or are disabled so that they can't cook? How do they determine who qualifies for a freebie? Or is the kind of deal that you get to eat taxpayer funded food just because you lived to that age? I am just curious. Don't flame me. I am not sure I understand the premise because I don't know how this system works. I do recall a meeting on TV where the county officials were funding "food safety classes" for the seniors because they assumed they were too stupid to remember how they had been feeding themselves "safely" for 65 years or whatever. I wondered how they made it to that age if they didn't know how to cook their food. I just figured the committeemen had nieces and nephews who needed an "instructor" job or something on the taxpayer dole.

The elderly are not as dumb and helpless as liberals want you to think. But maybe the next generation of them will be, who knows. The ones I call elderly are not.

Still don't understand! Is this a church that is giving out the meals on their dime? Are the taxpayers giving money to a church for meals?

If it's a church....why the big whoopala from rotterdam's government officials?

The site is at St. Margaret's.  It's a county site.  The JCC has a site as well.  Peggy Hohenstein, I think, ran it for years.  She is related to Fr. Hohenstein.  Rotterdam Senior Center could have been a site but couldn't get up to speed with the requirements.

Re:  FDG--A Rotterdam senior was honored in Oct. with a Lifetime Achievement Award.  He did not show.  Of course neither did ST ever show at the event.  Only Rotterdam's Super never shows.  On the other hand, Paolino always did when his residents were honored.  FDG did however, have the senior come to a TB meeting and honored him there.

Right--close the Center.
