What happened to
good-guy Del Gallo?

After reading some of the letters by people who think that Mr. [Supervisor Frank] Del Gallo is doing the right thing by using his heavy tactics to get what he wants, I can’t help but feel sorry for him and those people.
I have spoken to several people who know him and say he is a very thoughtful and fine person. It must be hard to try to figure out why a man that you say has all these fine qualities would all of a sudden make such a drastic change.
First of all, I was at the meeting where the four people whose lives were turned upside down (when he ordered them to other jobs, and would not explain why he was doing so) thought they were going back to their original jobs because the board had voted on it and it was passed with a 3-to-2 vote [Jan. 14 Gazette]. The women were happy to be going back to their jobs.
The next day Mr. Del Gallo decided to overrule the board and go ahead with his plan to send these women back to the jobs he had planned for them.
By the way, why do we have a board to vote on things if the majority votes for something and the supervisor decides that does not count and makes his own rules? No explanation was given. He said he is the supervisor and can do that. I beg to differ. These people pay dues to a union, which is in the process of trying to make this right. Arbitration will cost money. This is an expense the people of Rotterdam do not need.
The next issue is firing someone and refusing to give a reason. Again, he is supervisor and can do it — so he says.
The meeting I attended was the fi rst one I have been to, and I was shocked a the arrogant and unprofessional way that things were handled. By the way, exactly what is Mr. [Deputy Supervisor Robert] Godlewski’s job anyway? He has a negative attitude and either votes no or abstains from voting — especially if it is something that Mr. Del Gallo is not in favor of.
Good luck, people of Rotterdam. We are going to need it. I wonder who the next victim will be.

Wow. Sounds like the democraps and copservatives handed the people of this town some really bad things because they were doing "Obama's work."

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

FDG was not supervisor material to begin with. Everyone with a half a brain could see that. And although most still believe the same now, rotterdamians are totally disillusioned with the dem/con parties for using him for his name and money. Rotterdamiansare aware that the same dems that have promoted and supported and campaigned for FDG are now crying fowl.

It will be a long time before rotteramains will vote or support or believe another dem/con for a long time!!!
