Quoted from littlesal

There was contention around the vote by some residents, because the resolution reappeared after Del Gallo brought it back up for a vote. A public hearing was held previously, but it was before Democrat Councilman Wayne Calder was elected to the board filling the vacancy created by Republican Gerard Parisi leaving.

Residents questioned previously if the board had waited for Parisi to leave before revisiting the issue to secure a vote, but Del Gallo had stated this wasn’t the reasoning for now holding the vote.

The people of Floral Ave wanted to "Revitalize Rotterdam" with Obamanomics. They simply got what they wanted! I say hooray for democracy and hooray for them.

Seriously!  So all the people on Floral Ave deserve what they got because they all voted the exact same way for the exact same reasons?  I don't think so!!!  Noone deserves to be treated the way the residents in this situation were treated.  They were told from the very beginning that this was a "done deal",  "the fix was in".  They decided to do the best they could to fight for their rights.  Well the fix was in and there is something seriously wrong with that!  No way you can blame that on the residents.  The spot zone started with Constantino and was finished off with DelGallo, Godlewski, and Calder.  All for the benefit of one well connected former town attorney.

I guess I don't understand the meaning of this statement.  I cannot believe that you could be saying that the residents deserve another apartment building in their single-family residential neighborhood.
Please explain GB!

They got DEM working together works right between the eyes! This is what happens when the whole town goes DEM. No checks and balances and no one gives a rats rear about your neighborhood. What's in it for me-help Cousin Vinny with a no show job and screw you. Let's see if Wayne Calder signs stay up until Christmas again over there. Had enough-YET?

The residents on Floral Ave got it in a much more sensitive place than between the eyes and the sun doesn't shine there.

When a town and an election district is so hell-bent on choosing democrap rule over and over and over and over again, no matter how many sore lessons they learn from the crooks, how can you feel sorry for them? Like in the Schitty of Schitnectitty, they install democrap disctatorship and then wonder why they have a democrap reign of terror! Commmmmmmonnnnnnn! They go 4-0 democrap, then after a year long taste of it then vote ANOTHER DEMOCRAP SEAT TO MAKE IT 5-0, you really think there is a lot of sympathy for the idiocy? How many times do they need to be burned before it occurs to them that fire is hot? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

Remember- people get the representation they DESERVE! And I bet that same erection dicktrict put the democrap crooks in all over again this fall!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!

Weren't these the same residents that were told by FDG...........that he wouldn't live where they live???? And this was clearly NOT the fault of the residents!!! It was a mis-informed rotterdam town board who voted for something they did not even understand. The floral ave folks got royally screwed!!

But let us not forget that the last rotterdam administration tried to slip through $$$$$ for an ambulance service that was all but defunct!!! Slipped rems hundreds of thousands of taxpayer's dollars in als $$$$ AND to add insult to injury, slipped in an additional $10K  a month of taxpayer's money to finance a service that was already available in the private sector at no cost to the rotterdam taxpayers.

Yup GB, you are correct.......you get the government you deserve.

Break the pattern rotterdamians............vote MCGARRY!!

Did the people in that neighborhood VOTE democrapic? You bet they did. It was the people who THEY voted for who did this too them, just like Jimmy C did before while they repeatedly voted for them. They had the "GE union" mentality where they needed to keep voting democrapic for some unknown reason no matter how felonious their leaders were!

The majority (if not all) of those Calder signs over there were on the properties and homes owned by DeLorenzo.  Those involved in this knew as soon as those signs went up what Calder's vote would be.  TD owns several properties on Floral Ave.  I don't think those residents "deserve" this just because of how others in their area vote.  The businesses on Curry Road were not part of the petition - why would they be?  Why would they care about an apartment building that is no where near them and dropped down in the middle of private residences.  The Town Board should have voted based on the impact on the private
residences that would be effected by this project and then no petition would be needed!

Why would they even care about your feelings? The democraps have ALL town seat, 13 out of 15 county legislative seats, ALL city seats, ALL countywide seats. Congressman, BOTH US Senators, Assembly, Governor, and only one vote shy in the Senate. Oh yes let us not forget the presidency and the local police department. Why would they CARE what you think? You and your neighbors gave them that because you wanted the "Obama team" in Rotterdam like it is everywhere else. Their motto is "F you, we do what we want!"

When you realize that a dictatorship is dangerous and that we are a nation best served by two parties then maybe politicians will be more careful, but when you hand them the keys to the car and they do burn outs on your lawn then you have to ask yourself who's fault it is.

I think you missed my point, but your are right they definitely do what they want!  (and by the way I didn't vote for any of them!)

Well that is ONE of you in that district which is a hardy and reliable democrap outpost.

Graham, I wish the two party system worked in the practical sense as it does in the theoretical.  We had an administration of Republicans give away hundreds of thousand of taxpayer dollars through a verbal agreement without resolution, and this current Democrat administration doesn't want to spend money on litigation and screw the Republicans to the wall politically, and more importantly, give the residents of Rotterdam an explanation of where the money went.   FDG is NOT representing Rotterdam interests, but rather the interests of REMS and those people that were responsible for the theft.  Rotterdam is run by what is in essence crime syndicates, and party affiliation doesn't matter.  Decisions are NEVER made for what is best for the WHOLE community but instead what is most profitable for the party in power and the FEW close friends, families members, and business partners.  All at the expense of 29,000 residents.
