so we pay 5 park attendants a total of $200,000/year....do they work all year? even during snow or is that a separate $$....because then we pay folks

I love and agree with the "we need a clean flush of government".... But it always seems thats the Standard message by the potential candidate.. then they get their comfy cozy office and all they manage to flush is a dead fish or two from their fish tank... not bad policy or spending

And that's exactly why we as voters need to be seriously looking at the third party and independent candidates that are emerging with greater frequency.  The 2 major parties have largely failed us.  I believe real solutions will be found in an alternative candidate.  That doesn't mean, however, that the alternative candidate that emerges will ALWAYS be the answer - plenty of them have merely been co-opted by a major party too or are just plain unsuitable to serve.  The responsibility is ultimately on the voter to pay attention, stay informed, and actually vote.  In the short term, solutions will be accompanied by pain and sacrifice no matter who provides them.  Is the electorate ready for that?  I hope so.

Perfect recipe to keep socialists in power election after election. Form third party lines just for the sake of forming third party lines and you will have democraps socialists in power eternally. Keeping with that attitude, undermining sensibility, and there will be no elections in the future. Get involved in the only major party left that has a semblance of common sense- the republican party. From there, build on the conservative roots of that party and turn it back to the party of Reagan. Running third party candidates "just because" only allows the socialist/communist democraps and copservatives to empower themselves to the point where they will never be unseated.

Who said "just because?"  The major parties are broken, like it or not.  It is healthy for the parties to be re-invigorated.  That reinvigoration doesn't necessarily have to come from within - even the major parties had their origin - it doesn't mean they have to last forever "just because."

Based on the strategy of last election, I have to disagree with you.  Primary a conservative assemblyman, un-endorse a sitting councilman, run an incumbent county legislator for town council seat, then you have M. Viscusi   Common sense?  NOT.

This statement represents classicly flawed logic.  What are you afraid of?  You're advocating for only one path to a solution to your perceived problem of "one-party socialist" rule.  Your statement actually reveals what I said about the major parties being broken if we have to "turn the party back to the party of Reagan."  The Republican Party has/is failing in that goal otherwise you wouldn't have the very people that might be able to do it leaving to start alternatives.  It's time to start fresh with a few core principles and build on that.
