I wasn't asking to be mean, I was asking becuase I really want to know what is lacking.  I love to shop and I can find everything I need in NYS and especially in Central NY and the Capital District.  I've lived in several other states during my career and military service and can honestly say there are some nice stores (mostly grocery) that we don't have in NYS that I wish we did.  But as for Dept stores and clothing stores, I fail to see what it is we are lacking other than the high society overpriced stores you find on 5th ave in NYC.....oh wait....that's not out of state either, is it!!!!!

Rotterdam Square Mall must allow the 'mall rats' because they spend and steal alot more than the seniors with fixed incomes.....

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Must be http://www.kingsizedirect.com/ doesn't have a NY location for DVOR

Once again -- your immaturity and ignorance show.  You have to resort to personal attacks rather than actually posting something intelligent.

Dillards, Neiman-Marcus, Nordstrom's, Selfridge's and House of Fraser are the types of department stores that I prefer to shop at.

I've visited all but Selfridge's, and Fraser and do not see what any of them offer that would cause me to drive a long distance to shop there.  Besides, just like having grown up in Rotterdam and living in NYS, I guess I just have a sense of loyalty to support those merchants that choose to locate in my town or state.....you know, supporting your local economy......something I thought you have been professing.

There he is, has no job, trying to make himself out to be something he isn't.    A person who is adult by age, but hardly lives or acts as an adult.  And then are speechless when saying everything is so wonderful and fails to see yet another shopping center going down the tubes

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Neiman-Marcus has 3 in NY

House of Fraser and Selfridge are only in the United Kingdom - when was the last trip?

I am aware of the N-M stores down by NYC  but I prefer to shop at the Neiman-Marcus in Dallas  -- when I visit my cousin and his family out there.

They do have airplanes and ships that cross the Atlantic ... so transatlantic travel has been going on for at least a half a millenium   --- London is a great place for shopping.

Oh, so now your $ is not only spent outside of Town, outside of the County, outside of the state, but now it's spent outside of the country?  Hopefully you're reporting all those purchases to the IRS and paying taxes on them.

Quality citizen there, DVOR.

There is nothing wrong or illegal with shopping in other states or countries.    Almost everyone has traveled outof state or out of the country -- -and did some shopping while there.

Oh -- wait -- you folks are hiding in the bunkers that you dug in your back yards ... awaiting the coming of the 4th Reich .. so you would know nothing about traveling and other civilized behavior.
