You are just jealous that I have done well enough with my investments that I can afford to work from home.

And I don't  need to run for public office -- I am able to contribute to the community through my voluntary service on a commission and a committee of the town.   If I do run for public office this year, it will ONLY be to represent the best interests of the people of the town -- and, if elected,  I would donate every penny of any salary that comes with the elected office back to the town to pay for recreational and community programs for the town.

Represent the best interest of the community??????   Give us a break.  You support all the taxpayer funded gin mills, theaters, catering halls, hotels, hair-do salons, etc even if the taxpayers lose their homes.  It's a renaissance you say, but the neighborhoods where the people live is falling apart, people fleeing the city in droves, even if it means abandoning their houses, and crime is at an all time high, where you could accidentally be shot in the daytime, where children get shot on playgrounds.  Supporting all that money for downtown while children are killed and taxpayers are losing their homes is NOT in the best interest of the community.
