Parents should be involved with their child's education to see first hand what they are being taught, will it get them a job in the future, are they passing their subjects, and will they be ready for college when they graduate. In real life there are winners and losers contrary to what the kids have been taught in school. Potential employers want the best and the brightest employees they can find not a mediocre one who has been given a pass for 12 years and awarded a piece of paper that's not worth the ink that printed it.

how about the 'no child left behind' crap.....how much time does that take up in school????? and for what??? any monkey can put a square peg in a
square hole.....but teaching kids survival and self learning  and teaching is very important....problem solving....NOT rubber stamping.....

dumb mandates
dumb contracts
dumb laws

that sounds like a dumbing down of the public schools.....and with all this talk about how the boomers were the biggest generation and caused all
the schools to grow grow grow......why are the classes so big and the schools consolidating and YET there is a fight over money.....

Corrections
    The Mohonasen Board of Education is scheduled to meet and take action on the final 2011-12 budget at 6 p.m. Monday in the high school’s Farnsworth Technology Center. The time was incorrect in a notice in Friday’s editions.
