This was a very well planned out, organized protest. The protest signs were certainly not 'hand made' on a whim.

Obama's foreign policy is a total mess. He says nothing when people are being shot in the streets of Iran but throws Mubarack under the bus.

Egypt is not ready for democracy. The biggest political party is the Muslim Brotherhood who has been waiting since 1928 for this day. It is hilarious to hear our foreign affairs "experts" droning on about Tweets and Facebook. All this will be ending soon. They can't get history right either. Egypt got destroyed by Israel in 1973 when an entire army has surrounded in the desert. The UN saved them from total defeat. If you think gas prices are high now wait until the Muslim Brotherhood controls the Suez Canal. The liberals are waiting to run cars/industry from recycled hot air.

why cant we find a way to mine oil via recently deceased.....it is a fossil fuel....why cant we 'donate' our bodies to the energy cause.....then we wont
be taking up precious real estate with caskets and crap like that......

there must be technology out there that speeds up fossilization......

speaking of "fossils"  ---- what about our State Senator --- he certainly qualifies as a fossil.

Ironic that David Axelrod is moved out as Obama's political advisor --- and then the riots start in Egypt --- maybe Axelrod is organizing the protestors there now.    It wouldn't be the first time that an American political consultant got involved in the politics of a foreign nation.

And maybe -- Mike Dukakis is teaching the protestors how to drive in tanks.   He got his training back during the 1988 campaign.

Even if the Muslim brotherhood gets control of the canal, they only push things so far.
If they go too far, Israel and/or the US will reduce the Egyptian Military to ashes within a few weeks.
It won't come to that, because the brotherhood understands economics better than we think.

My guess is that as we speak - the United States is making arrangements for Mr. Mubarek's "retirement home".    Of course, my guess is predicated on the assumption that the White House and State Department are doing what I would be doing if I were the occupant of the Oval Office.

Mubarack has been an ally of the U.S. through FIVE presidents. The middle east is and always has been a powder keg ready to go off. The least bit of instability, will be a disaster.

And yes, the muslim brotherhood know the benefits of capitalism. But remember........they would hold ALL of the cards!

Mubarek has been an ally to the United States --- but I believe that he will not survive this unrest.   It would be best if the US could quietly orchestrate his retirement and replacement with a new leader.    It would be better to do that .. than to see Mubarek forcibly overthrown by radical Islamic extremists.

I agree with you on this one. Mubarek said he will step down after the next election in sept. Which hopefully will give this protest time to cool down. Egypt is about the only stable country in that region. If the radical Islamic extremists take control, it will be a disaster, not just for that area, but globally. IMHO

Unsubstantiated reports have the Muslim Brotherhood within Egypt already declaring war on Israel.   Prime Minister Netanyahu was stunned at the support the U.S. had given in connection with the current Egyptian government's  impending upheaval.   Leads you to believe that Obama and Hillary "Peccary" Clinton had been blowing major smoke up Netanyahu's behind.

Their are reports of the Brotherhood's leadership from Lebanon, Iran, Iraq , and Afghanistan converging on Cairo.  This may get ugly quick.   Israel has been quick to defend themselves in the past, not waiting for anybody's "okay" to strike.    If they feel any hint that they are being backed further in a corner because of Cairo's fall  it wouldn't surprise me in the least that they would fire off a pre-emptive strike and maybe at one of their other neighbors instead of Cairo.

The stealth of this uprising is a bit astonishing.   No intelligence gathered and released to our ally ?   Netanyahu unaware of this swift and well-planned "rally" of nearly 100,000 strong ( grown to an estimated 250k today)?     Something really smells here.
