Silly you, nobody looks to see if these signs are still around. In fact, they could just open their eyes and see the same ones that are in the same places that still haven't been picked up... even if it is legal for the code enforcement officer or any person on the police force to pick them up soon after election day. Maybe they're up for the next election.

Helicopter searches for wanted man ROTTERDAM — A Rotterdam man wanted on a parole violation fled from a traffic stop late Thursday in the town and eluded an intensive search of the area by police using dogs and a helicopter, police said. Rotterdam police were still seeking the man Friday evening. The suspect was identified as Robert Snow, 18, of Rotterdam. Snow was pulled over shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday on Fern Avenue by Officer William Male, police spokesman Lt. Jason Murphy said Friday. A possible warrant for Snow’s arrest on a parole violation was found, but officers must verify warrants are active before taking individuals into custody, Murphy said. Snow was standing outside his vehicle during that verifi cation process, not in custody. Male got the warrant verified and Snow took off running, Murphy said. Rotterdam police, along with the Schenectady County Sheriff’s Department and the state police, saturated the area around the traffi c stop. Snow is described as 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds. It was unclear what Snow was on parole for. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Rotterdam police at 355-7331.
