I look at this forum as being no different than people conversing at the corner coffee shop. Where people share their ideas, opinions, concerns and perceptions of the subject matter. That is a 'forum' style.

Your style is of a personal blogger. Recommending 'restaurants' and starting threads of places YOU would like to see, are of a personal nature and have no place on 'discussion forums'. I don't see anyone ATTACKING AND DEMEANING. I see people voicing their opinions and perceptions to YOUR PERSONAL subject matter.

You're really in the wrong 'web space' for what you are trying to accomplish buddy! May I suggest WORD PRESS as a blogging site? It is apparent that you have the two confused.

This blog is the "people's voice" --- I am just voicing my opinion.    It seems perfectly OK for you and
others to post your  personal opinions about restaurants and other things.  Therefore, I am doing no more
or less than what you and the others do.

Oh -- by the way -- I am NOT your buddy .... may I suggest that you just lighten up and enjoy life,

You can choose to concoct all kinds
of stupid posts to object to my recommendation -- again .. suit yourself because I don't care what
you think about me.

1 - I haven't "concocted" anything, so be careful with your accusations
2 - I'm not objecting to your recommendation...I asked questions and you choose not to anser those questions....that's your right just like my right to ask you for more spoecific informatino than the smoke and mirrors you seem so good at using
3 - Not sure I have ever made a statement about you personally, but the content of your posts and manner in which they have been done.  However, you on the other hand have interjected yourself into posts that I have written when you had no business and added no value.

Enough said!  You seem to be someone of vast knowledge on a lot of topics, and maybe are more of an expert than you are given credit for.  But when you make statements that are "vague" in nature and then asked for support or faced with questions about your comments, you become irritated and fly off in a different direction.....why can't you just use specifics so we avoid the rhetoric, or give answers instead of cloak and dagger mystery??????

Just like he lives with his relatives (at his age), he's gonna use the administrators resources to push his agenda, opinion and recommendations.  He's just a user.

Again......you are confusing 'forum' with 'blogging'. You are clearly a 'blogger' which does not have a place on a 'forum' or message board. You need to get out on the web more 'buddy'! There is a difference.....and you are clearly a BLOGGER!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_forum
Quoted Text
An Internet forum, or message board, is an online discussion site where people can hold conversations in the form of posted messages.[1] They differ from chat rooms in that messages are at least temporarily archived. Also, depending on the access level of a user and/or the forum set-up, a posted message might need to be approved by a moderator before it becomes visible.

Forums have their own language; e.g. A single conversation is called a 'thread'. A forum is hierarchical or tree-like in structure: forum - subforum - topic - thread - reply.

Depending on the forum set-up, users can be anonymous or have to register with the forum and then subsequently log in in order to post messages. Usually you do not have to log in to read existing messages.

blog - web log: a shared on-line journal where people can post diary entries about their personal experiences and hobbies; "postings on a blog are usually in chronological order"

I used specifics --- quotations from their website ... noted the fact that they are recommended by Fodor's
.. and shared my own personal experience.    There is hardly anything vague about that

First - I am all over the web - have been for over 15 years - I do quite well with it.

Second - this thread  "Mallozzi's Swedish Smorgasbord" is perfectly compatible with the heading "inside
Rotterdam" as it the event was held inside Rotterdam  --- oh .. by the way I actually started the
thread .. so for you to tell me what posts are or aren't appropriate is plain stupid.

Third - others started a "pissing match" trying to make all kinds of derogatory comments about Mallozzi's    and me -- THAT is inapproprate BOTH in light of the subject of the thread and the rules of this forum.

Fourth - the subject of the thread then shifted to the "best authentic Italian restaurants" -- so I mentioned
an authentic Italian restaurant which has a chef/owner who was born and raised in Italy, was furnished with
authentic Italian accouterments from Italy and serves dishes prepared in an authentically Italian manner.

So -- my suggestion to you is -- get a grip on reality ... take your meds if you need to .. and relax.   You
might actually start to enjoy life.

Or you could drive 11 miles (8 minutes) in the opposite direction and get some of that local food at Brooks' Barbecue, another "local small business" and still eat in New York.

Brooks Barbecue is a lot more than 11 miles from Rotterdam.   It is down by Oneonta.   I have eaten there
a number of times.

There is no need to stay in New York -- the  Tea Party hasn't taken over the country yet and forced us to
have "travel permits" to leave our hometowns.

We should have a  party like they had in Boston in December 1773 -- only this time throw the
Tea Partiers into the ocean
-- actually the participants in the Boston Tea Party would be spinning
in their graves over this current group of thugs and extremists hijacking the good name of that event
237 years ago.

We revolted against Great Britain to have freedom and liberty  NOT to be enslaved under the elitist toltalitarian
right-wing junta that Palin and the others would have us living under.

Let me see now Obama wants to control health-care, GM, Banks, financial companies, housing market, internet, talk radio, salt, food, and just about everything else in our lives but DV thinks the conservatives are taking away our freedoms. Writing things like that DV will keep Joebxr entertained all afternoon.
