The other issue with the Friendly's on Altamont Ave -- as the Avenue changed .. the restaurant did NOT change ... entering and exiting the site is more difficult, parking is very limited .... and once inside the layout and seating were not only dated but it was difficult to seat a party of more than 4 persons.
When we go out to eat, it is usually a family event or a church committee meeting or meeting related to town projects -- there is really less than 5 persons ---- so we seek out places that will accommodate 5 or more persons at the same table.
Then there is the issue of Friendly's very limited menu ...
Corproate stated that their restaurants were outdated and in need of updating as one of the reasons they couldn't continue in all markets. Menus were limited, but again, they felt the limts were more of "family fare" and did it intentionally.

tear down the old restaurant and replace it with a Whataburger
Whataburger is even better than Sonic --- but a Sonic would be nice, too.

Need In-n-Out burger here...great burgers and awesome fries! Zaxby's would be good too....but both are fast food joints. Really do need family fare. You know, wouldn't mind a GOLDEN CORRAL...food really is pretty darn good for that style of place, and prices are very reasonable. They should open a new pizzeria on that site. Altamont Avenue deserves a decent pizza. The renaissance has nothing to do with empty RSM mall either -lol.
We don't need another pizza place -- we have enough already -- and the best pizza is home made.

Altamont Avenue needs a decent pizzeria. Not the horrible inedible cardboard currently available over there. If that doesn't happen think real Carolina BBQ. We don't need another governmental gin mill.
