Albany Int’l Corp. moving HQ to N.H.

Manufacturer Albany International Corp. will move its headquarters out of Albany, New York, and over to New Hampshire, the company announced Friday.

The move erases yet another corporate headquarters and public company from the Capital Region’s private sector and is the latest move by one of the region’s biggest manufacturers to shrink local operations and expand elsewhere.

This makes the second major area manufacturer to move its headquarters out of state in the past two months, the first being Momentive Performance Materials Inc., now based out of Ohio.

This also marks the second publicly traded company shifting its headquarters out of the area Friday when Capital Bank's parent, Fort Orange Financial, was purchased by an Elmira company.

Albany International (NYSE: AIN) will relocate headquarters and its senior management team to Rochester, New Hampshire. The site is home to an aerospace division that the company has been trying to build up into a second core business, alongside its work making fabrics and parts in the paper industry.
