Another event that fled Schenectady despite "miracles"?

Too bad, Stratton was hoping to get a "curb usage fee" from the event.

This is the 3rd year that the Festival has been held at the Polish Community Center in Albany.

The only reasons that this event was moved to Albany are:

1)   It grew so successful that we did not have adequete parking and floor space at the parish.  About
30 years ago, we did rent out IUE Hall for a Polka Fest  but that space isn't available anymore.
Mayor Stratton and politicians of ALL parties have supported this event BOTH when it was held at
the parish and now at the Polish Community Center.    (Mr. Tedisco, Mr. Buhrmaster, Kathy Lewis
are among the GOPers who have supported us loyally over the years)

2)   The parish center/school building has been leased since July 1, 2008 to the City School District of
Schenectady -- so we no longer have access to the kitchen to make the thousands of pierogies,
golumkis, and other specialty foods at the parish site.

3)   The Polish Community Center in Albany (of which many of our parishioners belong) is a vital
Polish-American institution .... we saw a way to help promote them and the money we pay to
rent the facility also helps them.
The Polish Community Center has the 3rd largest ballroom in the Capital District and can seat
500 people at tables to eat ... and has a huge dance floor for the Polka dancing.   It has a huge
kitchen that we can use several weeks before the Festival to make the thousands of pierogies,
golumkis and other specialty foods -- and a walk in freezer to store these items once made.
The Polish Community Center has a HUGE parking lot ... is close to the Thruway and Northway for
the folks who come from far  and wide to attend.   Folks come from as far away as New Jersey,
Pennsylvania, Maine, and Massachusetts to attend this event.
The Polish Community Center has an outdoor pavilion ... surrounding fields .. and additional space
within the building that will allow this annual event to grow even more.
4)   As Saint Adalbert's has been developing a linkage with Saint Michael's  of Cohoes (another Polish
Catholic parish) ,  the Polish Community Center's location makes it more convenient for the many
volunteers from BOTH parishes ... and the many attendees from BOTH parishes  .. to participate
in this event which has become THE LARGEST POLISH HARVEST FESTIVAL IN UPSTATE NEW
      YORK

viva le' Albany!

Home of the 4 lane Rt 5
Home of the $0 curb tax
Home of more "non profits" than any other NY city.

Ya, I'd move it there too

The Polish Community Center is a great facility for weddings and events of all sizes.   The only venues
in the Capital District with a larger ballroom are the Empire State Convention Center and the Hall of
Springs.    The PCC can do a sit down dinner for 500 in the ballroom and you will still have a large
dance floor for dancing.

Put a fork in Savage. She's done.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
