You can argue all you want about water over the dam, however it is this Board's responsibility to propose a reasonable budget that does not have a significatnt negative impact on the taxpayers.  It is more than a one beer discussion as to the "appropriateness" of raiding funds to keep taxes down.  I think that ND has it right, she is shouldering the responsibility of this budget which is the correct posture for the current Town Board.  Now FIX IT!

and your side continues to bring p Democratic administrations from decades ago

We will FIX the mess that the GOP left in Town Hall.

FYI, I do not have a side.  I am for fair, just, and equitable treatment of the electorate.  I am not "selective" as to who should receive a biscuit, and who should not, but thanks for working to . . . .  "FIX the mess"!

WHAT exactly was a mess? After all, you gave raises, hired out of towners, increases payroll, and did favors to developers!

EXACTLY!! DVR keeps referring to anyone who opposes the liberal progressive socialists as an (R)! I am a registered blank and don't have a horse in this race. I just call 'em as I see 'em!

“I went to protest tax rates at a hearing. There were people who could hardly walk. There were people who are older than I am and not as healthy, and they were over there protesting their taxes,” said Del Gallo.

“What are you doing to these people? They collect a Social Security and a pension that’s 30 years old that doesn’t amount to anything,” said Del Gallo.

Prior to FDG getting elected, he complained about the high tax rates and blamed it on the Republican Administration.  Now, when faced with the 2011 budget, he realizes that they didn't raise taxes and now he's blaming the prior administration for NOT RAISING TAXES ENOUGH!

Talk about having your cake and eating it too.

If FDG were paying HIS fair share of taxes on the palace he lives in, maybe there wouldn't be
quite the tax hike.  He fought his assessment stating that it was too high.  Maybe he should
come down to where the "little" people live and see what we pay in taxes because you know
damn well once HIS taxes go up, he will fight to get his assessment lowered again and he will
be paying less property tax.  He will never be paying the 11.6% he proposes.

Everyone has the legal right to challenge their assessment.  Proving his/her case is a different
matter.

What ever way the wind blows with this bunch. At least ND actually 'sees' where the budget could be cut. That is why all of the rotterdamians should attend the public budget hearing meetings. IMHO

Fdg is incompetent...sitting in town hall all day should have enabled him to lower taxes...apparently tommasone was able to keep taxes flat without sitting there all day like a bump on a log

Tomassone was able to keep taxes flat by draining the reserve funds, shifting funds from the water
and sewer funds, and basically hiding the REAL dire situation that the town was in.

First the liberal socialist progressives blame tommasone for using the 'reserve fund', and yet their counterpart, Susan Savage, uses the county's 'reserve fund' to keep taxes low during an election year.

At least tommasone didn't use the 'reserve fund' ONLY on an election year like Savage did and does now!!

????  He used a large amount of it in HIS election year. He did nothing to reduce spending and used up a large part of the reserve fund to make himself look good, help his chances of being re-elected and mask the fiscal problems this town was and still faces. I certainly wouldn't make excuses for him...

Tommasone wil go down as the worst Supervisor the town has ever seen.  He did NOTHING to benefit the town.  He absolutely shifted funds.  Dumped on senior citizens and never made good on his promises to anyone. His Republican henchmen never offered any solid advice and if they did, then he didn't take it.  Tomassone was enabled to act ineffectively by his Rep buddies on the board.

The smartest Supervisor the town ever had was John Paolino.  The fiscal problems the town faces now are due to the Tomassone/Buchanan/Mertz regime.  That's the problem with you REps, you NEVER call a shot a shot.  And sorry it doesn't seem to me that ND has any walk-around sense.

the ONLY fiscal problem this town has is the helter-skelter planning or lack of....and the lack of foundation building ie:sewers/sidewalks etc.....we have no style and no class.....hence no business sense
except that which brings one's buddy $$ as the expense of poor taste and lack of patina........
