The Paladino Scam...

To justify tax breaks, Carl Paladino sold a dozen vacant lots he owned TO HIMSELF and claimed hundreds of thousands of dollars in "real property investments."
Seven years later, these "investments" remain what they were - vacant lots.

Records show six of Paladino's Empire Zone buildings hold leases that will allow him to collect $77 million in taxpayer-funded rent. Meanwhile, they've simultaneously received $1.2 million in sales and property tax breaks.

Paladino didn't write the rules, he just played by them.  The law makers that wrote these laws should be the ones getting criticized - not Paladino.

Just like I don't blame those who accept Metroplex money, I blame those morons that created Metroplex.

Who better to address the legal loopholes in the State system than a businessman that legally exploited those loopholes?

Cuomo is still in hiding while paladino is ripping up the pavement, national airways and internet!!! New Yorkers haven't seen the likes of paladino before and are frankly finding it refreshing.

People don't think that Cuomo will ever debate Paladino. The HUD fiasco would put the last nail in cuomo's coffin! Paladino is out with his pitchfork and the new yorkers are following right behind him!!!!!

Here's you chance new yorkers.......take it while you can!!!!

Careful with Paladino — because he isn’t

I can’t understand how they chose [Republican gubernatorial candidate] Carl Paladino over Rick Lazio; at least Lazio had a good reputation and came across as an intelligent, well-educated individual. Paladino’s public image presents neither.
How could we have a governor who can’t control his temper? What would happen if he didn’t get his way with passing a budget on time — would he take them all out?
The head of New York state should show some intelligence, an excellent use of the English language, and think carefully before he speaks. With all the talented and educated men and women we have in this state, it seems like they could have come up with someone better to run for offi ce than Paladino.
I think [New York Post reporter] Fred Dicker did us a favor by showing Paladino’s true colors

Paladino is dropping like a lead balloon ...  he is just slightly more popular than the high school kid with
a fresh outbreak of herpes who is trying to get a date for the Homecoming dance.

Good Morning Carl,

It was a great pleasure meeting you at the NYS Business Council reception last week at The Sagamore. As you may know, I was the gentleman that intervened as Fred Dicker continued his overly aggressive and completely unprofessional rant against you. I firmly believe that his behavior was completely out of line and that is why I stepped in between you and Mr. Dicker.

Since that time, I have learned a very valuable lesson about the state of politics in NY and more importantly the pathetic state of journalistic integrity in this state. Over the last 9 days, I have been identified as "the unidentified man, a Paladino goon, a hulking Paladino bodyguard, a Paladino thug and a Paladino staffer". As you know, I am none of those things, I am simply a guy who saw a situation that was quickly escalating and tried to do the right thing.

Additionally, Mr. Dicker has appeared all over Albany and on multiple media outlets stating that he was being pushed around and nearly knocked to the ground by "3" goons from the Paladino campaign (a total fabrication). The whole process has shown me that the media cares very little about detail and quickly attaches to the most dramatic elements of a story regardless of factual basis.

As I told you in Lake George, I am not your average Paladino supporter as I am a 23 year member of a labor union and a lifelong registered democrat. However, I am also a taxpayer who is being driven out of New York State and more importantly a parent who can not in good faith send my child to our failing public school system. I truly "get" your message and have also had enough of the dysfunction and corruption that is so pervasive in Albany.

I wish you the very best in this election and any future endeavors. You should take great pride in knowing that you have finally provided the much needed candor into this year's election.

Be well,

(name removed to protect the innocent)
Albany, New York

The problem for the Regressives ... is that Paladino SAYS what  they are really thinking .. and they
don't want the people to know how stupid and/or frightening their REAL agenda is.

Paladino is OVER!  Even my Conservative daughter said he was disgusting.  Hope you Reps/Cons are paying attention.  This is just another party that will be helpful to the Dems.  Those with the teabags better trade it in for a hot cup of Joe--your tea has gone cold...and nothing I love better than Iced Tea!

I don't expect much from any candidate for Governor in New York  .... we haven't had a decent governor
since Thomas E. Dewey.

Couldn't agree more. And we haven't had a decent DEM Governor since Al Smith.

Mario Cuomo (who gave NY taxpayers  the largest TAX CUT in NY's history) was the states best Governor from either party.
