Most people in schenectady county would MOST CERTAINLY vote for Farley over Savage!! Just check the polls.....Savage and Santabarbara are well behind.....although there are, what, about 5 weeks left.

Everyone knows that schenectady county became the 19th highest taxed county in the COUNTRY under Susan Savage's watch. The people will be hard pressed to elevate her to an even higher position.

Most people know that a HUGE part of the County budget is spent on  UNFUNDED STATE MANDATES ....
and that is due to guys like  Hugh Farley passing the buck and the bill  (invoice to be paid) to the counties.
The only way to control County spending is to ELECT SUE SAVAGE AS STATE SENATOR  ... then she will fight
to stop the unfunded state mandates ... and bring us real tax relief.

'Cause Schenectady knows, Savage is SO fiscally responsible - and has the philosophy that if it moves, breaths, drips or has a pulse, it can be taxed.

Again, I ask the same question.  Can you please give me the name or number of one home legislation requesting the state to lower unfunded mandates?  I DO KNOW that there have been several that the county has passed to request to be allowed to INCREASE taxes, whether it be to keep the 8%, if allowed by the state (which, without state approval, there is a maximum of 7 or 7 1/2% as a sales tax).  Also, there have been several times that they have requested the ability to continue to increase the bonding available for the Metroplex, the socialist taxing authority.

I do know that every year when county leaders go to Albany for their "lobby day" .. they ask the State
Legislature to stop unfunded state mandates ...  there are a lot of these ...
the most recent is the state throwing full responsibility for dog licensing on to the local government---
in Rotterdam .. that means that the town will pick up the full cost of running the dog licensing program
which the State has mandated but will no longer fund after Dec. 31, 2010.     That means that the current
town dog license fee of $6 will have to go up to at least $12 on January 1 --- and probably will have to
stop giving people over 65 an exemption from the license fee.     So after January 1,  I am sure that
some potential candidate  for Town Board   (probably GOP) will blame the  current Town Board for raising
dog licensing fees ---- but if we don't raise the funds to cover the state mandated program through the
license fees .. it will have to come from the property tax.      The Town Board will be blamed  but the FACT
is that it is the State Government .. which is mandating the program and then failing to provide ANY
funding for it.

So, what you're saying, is the democrat leadership in Albany is failing to listen to their own party comrades.   And we should expect the savage, mother of 9 to disagree with them?

Looks to me like Albany is tightening their belt, reducing costs and probably positions, once they drop this program.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could just lower our taxes that go to the state every time they hit us with an unfunded mandate in the same amount.

Don't hold your breath waiting for an answer because it never happened and never will with SS Savage "leading" and ANG following. They're leading us right over a cliff. How much longer can they dance on a razor blade? What about the nursing home Savage?

Just the opposite is happening at DSS-the stunad County keeps expanding programs-doing more than the State minimum. Extra programs that are not State mandated. Property owners go to hell.

Despite the false charges here-SS Savage and ANG are going down to record defeats. Even yellow dog DEMS are running from these two.

They ALL should be tightening their belt and making the tough decisions! In ALL levels of government. It is time to put a stop to all of these stupid frivolous handout, feel good, fluff tax paid programs!!

The overburdened tax payer can not take on anymore, taxes and fees. A DOG LICENSE FEE.....paleezzzeee give me a break!

The more they tax....the less people will or can spend......the more business that will go under.........the more jobs that will be lost..................Less money into the tax base..................the worse the economy will get!!!

Less taxes and fees = ECONOMIC GROWTH

The GOP controlled the State Senate for like over 3 decades -- Farley was IN the majority for
all but 3 years of his 18 terms in the State Senate -----   under Farley's watch the State Senate
GOP passedmore and more unfunded mandates on to the counties and municipalities.

It is NOT "tightening the belt" to pass the cost down to the counties and municipalities .. it is
a cheap political stunt.

So, other than "blaming" the other party, what have the Democrats done to remedy that?

And I guess Savage will save us money.....like the taxes in the county have risen to among THE HIGHEST IN THE WHOLE COUNTRY !!!!!!!!!!!!!\

By the way, can YOU provide the explanation of HOW Savage says the county property tax rate is the lowest since 1956?   That is what SHE touts in her flyer.  I mean really, do YOU believe we pay less county taxes than 54 years ago?

If Savage gives out money in the state like she taxes the heck out of us to give OUR HARD EARNED TAX DOLLARS to millionaires, then NYS will be far worse off.

It's at every level of government.  Dems rule and we are being taxee to death.  People in the city can't afford higher taxes, but will have to suffer with lower services rather than making millionaire Golub pay his fair share.  Come one, by giving making the low income people in the city pay the property taxes for this millionaire, WHAT is improving for the people in the cit????   WHAT has all this spending done for the city?????    Are taxes going down?  Are property values going up?   Are people moving into the city?  Are the streets safer?   Is crime going down?

TEll us, DVOR, WHAT has Savages tens of millions done for the people in the city?   Tell us about the ctrime rate, show us that crime has gone down.  SHow us how many people are just clamoring to move into the city and pay Golubs taxes.

WHy should people be in danger of losing their homes to tax foreclosures while their tax dollars cover the property tax bills of a millionaire????   Explain DVOR, what is the justification and fairness to that????  Tell us why it is good that people lose their homes because the millionaires won't pay their property taxes because your buddy Savage give them our tax dollars.

Look at the federal govt.  Obama inheited a $500 billion deficit.  This present has tripled that in only a mere two years, handing out money like it's water to people to buy houses, buy cars, buy appliances, all the while thanks to the free wheel spending the unemployment is going down, our taxes are going up, and they even had the nerve to decide to increase the debt ceiling to $15 TRILLION which, this pres winds up actually spending us into that kind of deficit, this country will be bankrupt.

Savage's actions caused us to have one of the highesst taxes in the country and you think such actions will be good for the state?

A large part of the County Budget is spent on Social Service Programs, Medicaid, etc .. all programs that
are  UNFUNDED STATE MANDATES ....    Mr. Farley and his GOP cronies in the GOP controlled State Senate
(since the GOPcontrolled the State Senate for  32 of the 34 years Farley has been in office)
Farley has had 34 years to stop the state from passing on these UNFUNDED STATE MANDATES .. and he has
done NOTHING .. the reason that Schenectady County and every County in this state has seen its County
Budget go through the roof for the past 34 years --- is because we keep sending guys like Hugh Farley
back to Albany.

Talk about whistlin Dixie. SS Savage is going to be crushed. Name on town she can carry? None-zero-not even Niskayuna is falling for her crapola.

The sad part is that Farley was beatable. 46% want another candidate other than SS Savage. The DEM "machine" came up with the worst possible candidate. Then she made a total idiot of herself with that Wizard of Oz commercial. Some miracle worker. On Monday the City will announce major layoffs and tax/fee increases because of nit wit DEMS working together to destroy both the County and City. 100 million of dollars dumped down the Downtown arts sewer with no results.
