Bombers Burrito Bar has moved up closing time to 1 a.m., apparently as a result of fights and a shooting outside the downtown Schenectady club in the last month or so.

When it comes to disturbance calls, police say, Bombers ranks with the city's leading booze-fueled trouble spots. Problems peaked at 12:50 a.m. Sept. 17 in a dispute between two patrons exiting the bar.

The altercation ended when one of the men downed the other with a shotgun blast to his thigh. Police have been unable to solve the case. Less than a month after the shooting, police were called twice in three nights to end street fights involving patrons leaving the bar.

Police needed all shift resources to break up a skirmish on Oct. 8. On Oct. 10, a large fight resulted in city cops requesting aid from neighboring police departments. Both brawls happened before 1 a.m.

Bombers has been serving regularly until at least 2 a.m. It is known that police have had discussions with management about the repeated violence, but curtailing the serving hours was done on a voluntary basis.

I've been downtown on a few occasions late at night when Bombers' patrons have been in the push, shove and holler mode that dissipated before police arrived. This nonsense is all due to Savage.   DV claims Schencectady is much improved by virtue of all the fights.

How come Bombers gets a tax exemption that is 150% of their assessed value:

Bombers,  447 State St.    A for profit business.   Now how do they do this one?    It’s assessed at 100%, the assessed value is $531,000 but it gets an exemption of $774,000?

But there's DV cheering for the handouts.  Police constantly have to be sent there.  There are going to be cuts to the Police Dept.  The neighborhoods will have to do without the cops even thought they will be paying higher taxes.

Now, explain this.  The lower income homeonwers in the city have to pay their own taxes, make do with less police service in their neighborhoods, they have to pay the property taxes of Bombers, and then get even less service in their neighborhoods from the cops who have to respond to Bombers.  But Bombers is exempt from paying for services from the police.

How crazy is that??????    Yeah, DV, explain that one.....how is it goood that homeowners are left without police coverage while the cops are all responding to Bombers who doesn't pay taxes.

THIS IS AN OUTRAGE !!!!!!!!!!!     Interesting, DV, STILL has not provided any answers as to the questions of how Savage's spending has benefitted the neighborhoods, improved city services to the taxpayers, reduced taxes, had a positive impact on property values, etc......he can't answer and won't because there are no benefits.

Yep, this is ENTIRELY due to DV's closest buddy dem - Savage - DV STILL doesn't respond to explain HOW Schenectady had benefitted from Savage.  ALL city police responding to Savage's tax exempt gin mill.  DV, HOW is leaving the entire city unprotected an improvement???????    Can't answer that, huh?????

How is taking ALL city police resources AND services from the towns to respond to Savage's tax exempt gin mill an improvement???????

Just can't answer.  Well, thankfully, the people of Schenectady and the rest of the assembly district know full well that there is no Schenectady miracle.
