Bravo to the thinking town leaders mentioned in Marv Cermaks article. SS Savage has made another fool out of herself and has no plans for this facility.

Curry Rd is no place for a new County Home. Too much traffic, too far from Ellis and prime commercial land that cannot be taken permanently off the town tax rolls. DVOR is not making any sense. Do want to pay more taxes and burden home owners even more? Wake up and smell the Sanka.

Still not sure who the "town leaders" Mr. Cermak was referring to -- I believe that REMS will remain
the provider of ambulance service in our town .. the only question left is whether we adopt a taxing
district to support it.

First, Susan Savage is beginning to find out how miserably she has failed in the highest taxed county in the state. The only place she can survive is in Schenectady county where most are dumbed down and that appears to be short lived. Some dems are even moving away from her....especially after this last primary.

Second, you are dead on about the county home on curry rd...but you are making too much sense!! Something schenectady county's officials don't have.

I strenuously disagree with that thinking  and will fight with every fiber of my being to see REMS succeed --
even if that means fighting FOR a tax district.

I will pay for own ride to the hospital when I need it and you can pay for yours........let REMS make their own boat swim....they dont
need my help to JUMP START a business of their own......it's a fear lie that the supporters are selling to the public......
it's like the folks who stayed in Louisiana with a hurricane bearing down, just waiting to be saved or to have someone else keep them
from the calamity......keep pumping the fear into the 'poor poor elderly'.........we dont need to pay for a service that is so rocky
when we know there is a well qualified business with experience.....and I certainly hope those that run REMS aren't trying to make
a grab at something they see coming down the National Healthcare rails...........DONT TELL ME HALF TRUTHS to stuff your pockets.....

in this town that's why there are no sewers.........

I will pay for my ride to the hospital when REMS sends a bill  AND I will gladly pay an ambulance district
tax to ensure that REMS has the ambulances and equipment that it needs.
And I will gladly pay taxes for a new county nursing home .. wherever it is built.

Good for you.  The least you could do for the $32K patronage job.

I really don't have to justify my charitable donations to you or anyone.

'

Therein lies the problem - seems they've had issues for YEARS of not sending bills.  If a business did that, they'd be closed, with no hope of survival in the business world.

Why, for many years, did REMS not bill people / medicare / medicaid / insurances properly?  What have they changed to correct the situation?
