DVOR I'm surprised that you haven't suggested passing a town ordinance making it illegal for a person not picking up their dogs deposits.

I think there is one (not sure), but you have to catch them in the 'act of pooping'!

If I had a dog, I would pick up his/her "deposits -- but I don't have a dog.   Frankly, I assumed
that it was illegal to leave those "deposits" ... and even if it were not illegal -- common courtesy
should compel persons to clean up after their pets.

If it is not already a town ordinance - and I will look that up tomorrow - I would certainly work
with other residents to propose such an ordinance.

Thanks ... I thought it was on the books.   It should be enforced.

There's a shooting right next door to Rotterdam(if not in it)...we have no foundation for growth(sewers) or neighborhoods are aging and Hamburg street has no sidewalks.....and we are having a conversation
about a dumb-a$$ dog park.....no wonder the scum is lapping at the shores of Rotterdam.....erosion of said town......

yeah,,,,as a town we can 'nicely' look into it.....then MOVE ON......I understand parks/rec doesn't have anything to do with sewers....
BUT......the leadership of this town has everything to do with everything....sewers/parks/rec/roads/police/fire etc....(notice I left off
REMS)......but I have yet to see a straightforward foundational planning.....why? would it make them unpopular in their age group?
make them unpopular with their friends? why?...........this town is hard up for some real building....not facades and friends little
developements..........

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

It should be enforced but like the racetrack on Westside Ave the TB ignores these things because it may cost them a vote to enforce them.

Shadow is just stating the facts! Go talk to the residents who live by the racetrack. Perhaps they will shoot their mouths off too, huh?

First - you know where I stand on the race track issue -- it is a race track and should be stopped or they
should at least be forced to show proof of $1 million liablity insurance and pay the racetrack permit fee
(which is what the town law requires)

Second - the Town Board HAS been trying to get the matter resolved ...

Nobody in rotterdam cares where you stand on the race track issue. Unless you are a code enforcer or an elected official you are not in a position to enforce anything!

The laws are on the books to stop the racing on Westside Ave right now per GP and he's a lawyer is he not. The Town Board doesn't want to enforce the law and until it does it means nothing just to say they're studying the problem.

The IMPASSE is that the Building Inspector refuses to make the determination that it is indeed a
racetrack.   The building inspector is the town employee who is - by law - assigned to enforce the
town code.
According to the Town Attorney, it would be up to the Zoning Board of Appeals to overturn the
building inspectors ruling  .. or in this case non-ruling.

So, in fact, it is NOT the solely the Town Board's fault  -- actually, I am not sure what remedy the
town board could take short of hiring a new building inspector
