That's the lesson the kid ringing the doorbell should have been taught. LOL

The homeowner is a coward.  Pick on somebody your own size is the motto I teach.  I guarentee you this homeowner has an agressive way of handling issues.  Hockey players are known to be "physical."  His poor kids must be petrified of their own father after this.  They watch there father beat up a kid and we glorify him.  I don't think so....  and cissy I would love to see you hauling your fat a-s-s in your skippys chasing your neighbors kids around for calling you out for having a red roof.  What a site that would be.  LOL

You can guarantee NOTHING..First off  at 10:30pm, its dark. The homeowner couldn't tell if that was a kid or not. The kid was 5'7" 120lbs. That height is just 1" off the national average for an adult male. Most of this kids injuries were consistent with a hard tackle from behind.
That kid got what he deserved.. he probably deserved more.
The attorney Kristie Hanson is just out to make a name for herself..well, she picked the wrong case.
I'm betting the charges against the homeowner get dropped or severely reduced, and if Hanson and the Madeo family are dumb enough to try a civil case, bring it on. A poll I saw was running 90% in favor of the homeowner... if I'm him, I like that jury pool.

I would do the same as this homeowner. No one better keep knocking on my doors or ringing my door bells 'for the hell of it'!! This pathetic justice system just continually reinforces the belief that kids can do what they want with NO consequences! Nice!

And cicero is correct regarding robberies.......They ring door bells and knock on doors then hide in bushes to see if someone is home first! Gee, perhaps this was the plan all along, huh? The kid would have had NO teeth left in his mouth if he did that to me. And I'm not, nor do I like Hockey! K?

I don't think 10:30 is that late.  The homeowner used poor judgement.  Ding Dong Ditch has been around for years.  Get over yourselves will ya.  When your kids screw up you smack em around?   Nice parenting skills.

If you play with fire sometimes you get burned is the motto I teach.  The kid got burned.

If you mess with the bull sometimes you may get the horns is also a motto I teach. The kid got the horns.

I would hate to be your kid.  Sounds to me that you live by fear and intimidation but I am not surprised.  By your history of posts you get off on fear and intimidation.  You like to "hurt" people albeit usually from behind a curtain.  Again the use of the word "coward."

I had the same experience years ago.  Talked to kid the next day.  He never did it again to my house and the kids parents thanked me for understanding youthful indescretions.  You Cissy have issues that make me wonder about your own parenting skills.  Time will tell.

Did you sing kumbaya after you talked to him?

I have a 17 year old still at home, and 10:30pm IS TOO LATE on any night for him.
My house, my rules.
In life, you can never expect how a person will react..The kid just found out, lesson learned.
In hindsight, it could have been much worse, like what happened to the local teacher in western NY.

55 Bird--not the same scenario with the teacher in Western NY.  This was a prank BUT it probably was scary.  I am used to my phone ringing all night and people coming in andout of my house at all hours.  It is still unsettling.  But no need for the crazy violence.  My son didn't hear my sister announce herself when he was home alone.  He only heard the garage door open and then the house doo open/He stood behind the wall with a bat and was seconds away from hitting her because he thought somebody borke in.  People get freaked.  These kids should get a kick in the a$$ from their folks and the man, though I understand, should get a bigger kick in the a$$.  And if the kid REALLY wise-assed the guy, which I do not believe, his parents should get kicked in the a$$ as well for raising him up to be a goop.

In that neighborhood, Van Plew is a hero bc from what I heard these kids have been pulling this kind of crap 24/7 and it has worn very thin with the neighbors. Broken mailboxes, grafitti, etc. In my estimate, when the kids decided to go to both entrances at once thereby boxing the inhabitants in, the guy's killer instinct kicked in. The kid is lucky he didn't get his teeth kicked out, and I think the man showed great restraint. Of course the cops don't want you to hold anyone, they just want to be able to drive by and act like they are deterring, they don't want to do paperwork. They get mad when you actually try to stop or hinder crime, bc lets face it-if people rose up against crime and criminals, overtime and extra staffing would go way down, and the criminal justice industry would suffer.

...its nice to see someone stand up. Whether it was a prank or not, the guy finally decided (LIKE A GOOD AMERICAN WITH GUTS) that he had had enough of being taunted, pushed around and terrorized IN HIS OWN GODDAMN HOME. Fu(king liberal democraps don't get it, not one bit.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Back in our day before the kids started telling their parents what to do if we got caught doing something wrong by a neighbor who gave us a swift kick in the butt for doing it we never said a word to our parents as they would have sided with the neighbor and thanked him for straightening their kid out.

If you spend time wondering about my parenting skills while sitting at your desk at GTH, then you have issues.

With the mailboxes being destroyed, lawn ornaments being ripped out/disappearing, scratches on cars, flat tires, etc in that neighborhood, people have had enough of this crap.  It's now made national news as being the most ridiculous story of the day.
