Pg, you're in trouble if you think something isn't going on behind the scenes.  Graham is giving you a heads up and you would be smart to take him seriously, who knows, maybe someday you can repay the favor.

You're missing something, BH and GP are a bit closer than you think.  Not to mention that the PBA believes they owe their raise package to GP himself.  While the CSEA was getting $hit on with increased contributions, cut in benefits and a minimum cola, the PBA was racking up one of their best contracts EVER!

As far as the state conservative party, unless they are getting petitions, providing volunteers and a big infusion of money, their support equals ZERO.  Like the Fly points out, wasn't Tommasone supposed to get their endorsement?  After what Signore game the cops, what did he get?  JS comes in to take out Mertz for the cops and what did he get?

This is a coordinated effort and theirs a lot more favors being called in than you think!  Get with it.

Here's another tidbit Zorro...

The Democrats have been out collecting CP DESIGNATING petition signatures since June 8 for Angelo...I saw the petition myself...and they were in every
election district. I do believe, however, that they are doing this behind the backs of Pascarella, Hamilton, et al.
This is probably an attempt to invalidate GA's petition...their way of saying that if Angelo can't have it, no one else will either. They understand that the
CP line will be crucial to a GA victory. As far as I can tell at this point, they are having trouble getting signatures. PG better hope that continues.

You would have no choice...the State Executive Board would have endorsed GA with or without your support. It is simply a stroke of luck that GA just
happens to be your friend and a Guidarelli relative ...and that is the basis of your support. It has nothing to do with being conservative, as it does
with the State Committee. Fortunately for you, your good friend GA also just happens to be a conservative.

Can we assume then that even though you supported and rallied for GA in his first run for Assembly, that now you are throwingyour loyalites to GP even though he may obviously be conspiring with AS??  Ya know...the conservakrats?

I'm not sure how on earth you arrived at this "assumption" based on my response to PG's comments.

I was simply pointing out that endorsements by the State Conservative Committee's Executive Board are not based on requests by the
local party leaders...thank God, at least where Schenectady County is concerned.

PG and his local buddies want you to believe that State CP authorizations are on their direction...and that is just not the case. The
State Committee would have authorized GA with or without the approval of the local leaders for the same reason they have always
authorized him - he is a conservative. Period. Would they prefer the blessing of the local committee? I'm sure they would...but
if RP and BH tried to serve them up a liberal Democrat, as they regularly do here, you can bet their liberal dish would be rejected. So
all I'm saying is that it is merely a convenient coincidence for RP and BH that GA just happens to be a Republican candidate with whom
they have long and deep personal connections. If not for those close personal ties, they would not support GA because as I said, it has nothing to do
with conservatism.

RP and BH will always tell you that "they" are endorsing a Republican in State elections because they know that will likely be the case,
whether they like it or not...so it's better for their enormous egos to have you believe that it's their own intention...not to mention the
added benefits of masquerading as conservatives while creating the false belief that the State Executive Board is at their mercy.

Why do you think RP "announced" that he was endorsing Rick Lazio back in DECEMBER? He knew there was no way Long would
authorize Cuomo !

County’s unified dispatch system raises questions

I watch with great interest the letters regarding the proposed new “unifi ed” dispatch plan in Schenectady County. Being a [Glenville] dispatcher myself, I find fault with the model the county is putting forth.
“Unified” dispatch is a great concept, but this county just cannot seem to get it right. First of all, $1 million is not even a down payment on what this whole center is going to cost. By making it look like this is all that’s needed for start-up costs, they are lying to the public.
Second, the model has a total of eight dispatchers working per shift. This would consist of one dispatcher to cover five police departments, one to cover 23 fire departments, one supervisor, three call-takers and two dispatchers dedicated to the city of Schenectady. This model means that a total of 32 dispatchers would be needed, as you have eight per shift, with one shift always having a day off. The only problem is, there are presently 54 dispatchers in the county.
I cannot believe that “attrition” means these 22 dispatchers will be kept on; I think the county’s definition of attrition means getting fi red.
The county has no clue as to what a dispatcher does — this being evident by one dispatcher handling fi ve police departments. The checks and entry for just one traffic stop will keep a dispatcher busy for 10 to 15 minutes, and with the reality of multiple stops going on at the same time, and other police calls, one person could not possibly do this. This would also put the offi cers’ safety at risk with each call.
Now, put the other dispatcher doing 23 fire departments on multiple calls with mutual aid needing to be dispatched, and this person will be overwhelmed. This happens now with the present staff. Again, this puts the public safety person in the field at risk.
There is also a two-tier pay system involved between call-takers and dispatchers; who decides who is going to be a call-taker at lesser pay?
These are just a few concerns for this ill-thought-out plan. If a dispatcher had been involved with this from the beginning, maybe this model would have turned out differently, and the towns would not be questioning this. There is still time to fix this, if the county representatives are open to listening and modifying.

You didn't really think that the politicians were going to tell us the truth about the real cost of creating a new county dispatch system did you. The city/county is broke now just where do you think the extra money to fund this debacle is going to come from, that's right you increased tax bill.

It's all about centralized control and more jobs for County DEMS. More patronage=more money=retaining control by any means necessary. Its not enough to control everything they want to crush all opponents. And they are doing it with an assist from the People's Gazetto.

Anyone who thinks this is to save money is still on the koolaid. The towns must retain their dispatchers and community television must be returned to the community.

The new "command bunker" that this impregnable communications system will need to built in is basically going to have to be built like some kind of Fort Knox because of the latest FEDERAL MANDATES that the thieves in Washington put through. I imagine the debt (liberal socialists will successfully break America's back with DEBT as is their goal) will be something like 10 million bucks, OR they will have it built by a preferred developer at a lease that balloons. Wait and see...

There's the error in his thinking - they're legislators - NOT always necessarily representing the wishes of their constituency, rather what might further their careers or get them "in good" with contributors.

There was only one legislator questioning it way back when. But he is no longer there because no one else would ask questions and defy SS.

A new County order! Anyone that questions it is ground under the high heel.

"Preferred developer"-good one Graham. Wonder who that could be? lol. And then grab every State/Federal grant mixed with a large ladle of Metrograft largess. Guess who was at the Savage $500 feed or $1250 Tonko's Dinosaur BBQ? Nothing changes and none dare report on the doins.

perhaps they will use the vacant grand union on hamburg street. Perhaps that was part of the deal IF it even happens. Rotterdam COULD change their tune IF they hatch some brains and common sense!

I think that legislator was summoned by his party to settle a score within the party and push for a taxing district at the town level and running a fellow republican out of office, and ultimately helped in sinking the party ticket.  This legislator would always complain about the lack of opposition voices at the county level, then steps down as an incumbent and helped eliminate the only stronghold the minority party had is Schenectady County.

...bench jockeys like you wouldn't be bothered to come down to the county to support him, worrying more about how you could vote out the republicans that were left. That is a fact. That is why the people get the government they deserve.

...when you finally see this current group of Rotterdam Republicans for the losers that they are, sometimes you need to make bold moves and hitch your cart to some new horses.  I wasn't worrying about how to vote out the republicans that were left, I was just helping out in taking out the trash.

Don't think so highly of yourself, the republican barn cleaning is happening nationwide.  The republican establishment is still in denial.

GP is even trying to sell himself as a non establishment political outsider.  It's pretty comical.
