#####andy clemente#######
Engineer with bonded concrete
What can be done with the old lake
Can we lift the restrains on digging in the lake
Peter prepared some new dwgs
His designs is a chain of islands
Property is 5000'x1000'
The fish have big heads and small bodies - thus the lake is out of wack - the lake needs more shallows and less deep area and a wetland
West sand lake has an example of what we propose
The plan calls for a walking path to 10'
This path would aid security by allowing police patrols
North slope would be seeded with pine trees
Parking area off  mabie lane
Maybe 35 spaces
Build a berm to keep RR  fluids away from the water
There is also a cross section dwg showing the berm
Bonded would grant 400k to the town of rotterdam
Bonded would ensure the park is created by "bond"

Questions
How will this effect the water?
This will increase the aquifer?
No storm sewers will feed this lake
How much material will bonded remove?
2 million cu yards of material
We will use a electric dredge
Some diesel fuel from a front end loader
We will add nothing to the water we are only removing material

Audience - Are you the same bonded concrete from 25 years ago?

Our permit was surrender to SI Group in a negotiated settlement
The past admin asked if we would fix the old lake across the RR tracks in Rotterdam Jct
I will give you the park for free or you can pay to fix the mess you have
We have learned a lot in the last 25 years and we bring this knowledge to the table
Please review the "mad river project in dayton ohio"
We will provide 65 percent more water when are done
NYS DEC will oversee us
Our wells are monitored daily in some of our operations
The SI Group wells would be moved
40ft of gravel Over glacial till
The big difference will be the island chains
We will have to get watershed permissions
If this town wants a park I'll build a park for $0 but I want the gravel

Brownfield optimist area(BOA)

Our town planner commended mr clemente on being upfront on his plan

BOA nominating studys
We applied for a $150k grant to look at redevelopment at exit 26

Laberge group
We will also look at 5 corners
What is the boa area
Underdeveloped possibity contaminated areas

to look at an area not just a site
Return dormant properties to the economy
We take a hard look if your plan can occur and what is the market for the plan
We also provide grant writing
Rotterdam is currently in step 2

All documents will be provided to town in electronic format for posting on the towns web site

We are looking from the bike trail crossing R5s to the elementary school
We are looking to end the sprawl and refocus the community on the old community structure to reduce state costs

Systhis out of schdy will do street design

And the parking lot moved also
Emergency access road has been eliminated by floral

Parks commission presents ten year plan

Sean Ahern 05/13/10

During the Rotterdam town board meeting at the Fire House of the Rotterdam Junction Fire District 1, Ron Severson of the Rotterdam Parks and Recreation commission presented a ten year plan on improving the parks in the town.

The ten year plan includes three goals: using the existing parks and conservation areas as the “bones” of the project alongside strategic acquisitions to implement the plan, ensure an effective parks and recreation program with the creation of a separate Parks, Recreations, and Community Program Department within the town budget and minimize the impact on property taxes for the implementation of the plan. Severson said that he wants to see community input into the ten year plan and used the renovation of the Woestina Park in Rotterdam Junction as an example of community involvement in the renovation of parks in Rotterdam.

“There’s an awful lot we can do and the Woestina Park is a great example of what we can do,” said Severson.

Severson also talked about the creation of a general use park, multi-sport and multi-team facilities, and the creation of a year-round Activity and Recreation Center. Residents will be able to leave comments and suggestions at the town hall for the comprehensive plan.

“We definitely want everyone’s input in this,” said Severson.

The park commission, which was created in April of 2009, will hold two more presentations to residents in the town on Thursday, June 3, at the Rotterdam Senior Center and Saturday, June 5, at the Rotterdam Town Hall.

In other news:

• The town board called for a public hearing to be held on Wednesday, June 9, at 7 p.m. to discuss the town’s participation in a proposed Schenectady County Unified Communications Center for the dispatch of law enforcement, protection services and emergency medical services.

• The town board authorized the town attorney to enter into a settlement agreement in the matter of Rite Aid Corporation vs. The Town of Rotterdam, reducing the assed value of the 1427 Altamont Avenue property from $1,975,000 to $1,600,000.

• The town board approved the creation of a fiver person committee for the Brownfield Opportunity Area Study for Rotterdam Junction.

The Rotterdam Town Board will meet again on Wednesday, June 9, at 7 p.m.
