Another primary

Republican Rotterdam Town Board member -- and former town attorney -- Gerard Parisi says he will primary George Amedore for the 105th Assembly seat this September -- whether the county Republican establishment likes it or not.

It wouldn't be Rotterdam politics, after all, without a controversy.

Shortly after Parisi released a statement May 7 trumpeting his endorsement by the town's GOP, Schenectady County Republican Chairman Tom Buchanan shot back with a lengthy missive of his own, saying the town committee's vote was done with few people in attendance and that the endorsement is meaningless unless the entire county party backs Parisi.

Buchanan, who has pledged his full support to Amedore, said Parisi is just appeasing former town Supervisor Steve Tommasone, who is said to be peeved that Amedore did not come to his rescue as Rotterdam Republicans splintered into another party, the No New Tax Party, last November........................>>>>...........................>>>>.................Read entire article here: http://www.timesunion.com/AspS.....Page=2#ixzz0nvGUpaD5

If the GOP leadership wasn't so arrogant and listened to the party members a solution could have been reached and so they get to taste the wine from the bitter fruit. There will be more whining after the November elections too.

Bravo Shadow. It's unbelievable. Especially when we have two open County judges and an unopposed County Clerk.

Let GP run for judge. Let Bill Osta run for the other judge. Naah, its better to primary GA?

Parisi, who is serving out a one-year appointment on the Town Board, says he and his supporters simply believe Amedore isn't fiscally conservative enough.

Spidey - how can you support people like this????  GA, like him or not has had one of the most conservative voting records in the state assembly.  FACT!

Under ST and GP!! that adminstration wanted to add a taxing district!!  FACT!

Now who is more conservative.  The GP house of cards is falling down

Exactly who are GP's supporters, other than FS? GP should have left well enough alone. He should have stayed in the cesspool of rotterdam politics. Like I said before......GP and all other politicians, both parties, from rotterdam already are tarnished. If you are from rotterdam politics....that's were you are gonna stay....UNLESS of course you are appointed by a crony to another position out of rotterdam.

Peter, er I mean sal, what did GA do for the people? So what he listened to direction on how to vote? Big deal! What leadership did he show?  Give it up the only house of cards falling is GA. The taxing district seems like a good idea! Unless you have some financial interest in Mohawk expanding to Rotterdam?

It makes good economic and financial sense to give the rotterdam residents a superior service with out the extra taxes!  Unless of course, GP or the other reps have some financial aspirations in REMS...perhaps?

Remember......I'm mertzie!!

black spidey -

what has GP done to better the town, the rep party and the county?  besides provide them with ok pizza.  its not great, but its also not bad

have his administration propose a taxing district? destroy the party? destroy the committee? represent everybody in the area from rems to golub so he cant possibly be impartial in anything? have FS endorsed for the town? doesnt he have KR in his back pocket? his best friend, the reps rising star,  leave the rep party? his endorsed candidate Stan the man couldnt win a primary? I bet you love having GP air the reps dirty laundry in the gazette and spotlight - from mertz to amedore?  endorsing MB and MV for county legislature? how did that work out? do i need to go on - looks like GP would fit right in at the state?

If it was anybody else I would support a straight up primary - but this just stinks

I can understand a primary if the majority of the party disagrees with the endorsed candidates political philosophy.  If GP was challenging GA because he believed he offered a more conservative or more moderate political philosophy then GA, this primary might make sense.  But as it stands right now, the only reason given publicly to primary GA was because of GA lack of public support for GP's dismal ticket offered last election.  Again...more political infighting, no real substance coming out of the Rotterdam Republican party.

This is just an effort to muddy up GA with an ugly primary, in hopes of sneaking in his bud AS.IMO
