I think it was taken for the donation of cheese profits to charity.

How ghastly!

I never remember reading the rule in the politics rule book that says you have to HATE politician's of a different party.

Then again, I'm probably looking in the wrong place...

Reps and Dems can be friends, ya know...it's allowed!

Gerard is a human wrecking ball.  What is in the water on lower Broadway?  I am glad I am a BLANK!

Gerard has the integrity to do the RIGHT thing for the sake of the taxpayer and the tenacity to press forward and withstand all of this grief.
It takes  a special person like Gerard to stand up and do the right thing for the taxpayers!! We want an elected official that thinks about the people who elect him to office and not someone who strong arms people into doing what will be best for his own pocketbook

Never read the Gazetto but sounds like the American way.

BTW, I am not against GP. Just think it makes more sense for him to run for an open judgeship-where we could use his expertise AND he could win. Do you think he can beat GA? If he waits 2 years he could take this on a silver platter.

Amedore has alot of adversary......Gerard could use his expertise in the legislature. We need people in the legislature that know the law and can introduce legislation, negotiate with dems and get things DONE!

George will destroy Gerard in the primary.  The Rotterdam Reps are trying to muddy George up for the general against Ang.

A man like Amedore needs to be stopped!!! Enough is Enough

Leaders need to be leaders and not turn on their own because they didn't get a zone change that cost his family alot of money!!!!!!!!

Wasn't there an episode on the Jeffersons way back when that addressed this issue?

Ms. TD, if that is the best you got.....then gp's dead in the water. Cause you are not telling the whole, truthful story. That is unless you are just being the waterboy/girl for gp to spread inaccuracies. Perhaps you are not totally informed of the truth...perhaps? Or have you willingly turned to dirty politics to benefit of the few.

Do you think that maybe, just maybe, rotterdam can run a 'clean' election year? People have become sick and tired of the bull crap that comes out of rotterdam. People like you is what makes rotterdam the laughing stock.

Just stick to the issues and at least 'try' to refrain from negative campaigning. Cause if that's all you got....gp will lose for sure! I certainly hope that you are not his campaign manager or spokes person!

Except that's not exactly the case here.

Spoken like a true NNTP-supporting hypocrite.

"OK guys, enough's enough, now THIS year should be the "clean" year."

Well guess what, bumble, and all the other No New Tax Party hypocrites...the world doesn't work that way!  You can't just disrupt the political party process, then expect everything to be kosher from there on out.  The people responsible (Amedore, whether through direct activity or through OMISSION!) should be held as such...RESPONSIBLE.

Amedore had the chance to answer for the last election cycle...and I'll quote you again, Bumble.

You mean like not supporting ANY Republican candidates for town races because "Wah! Wah! Steve Tommasone didn't kowtow to my pressure to make MORE money for my family "

That, Bumble, is DIRTY POLITICS, on AMEDORE'S PART!!!!!  When you point your finger at someone else, there are three pointing back at you.  Don't come on here with your holier-than-thou BS...because although 90% of the people on here agree with you, it's nothing more than BS.

At least acknowledge the fact that Amedore was DEAD WRONG, and used DIRTY POLITICS, and don't support him OR Parisi!

Turn on their own?  Wasn't it Parisi and the Rotterdam Reps that un-endorsed a sitting Republican (Mertz)?  Now Parisi is going to primary one of the most conservative Assemblymen in the State (Amedore).   Parisi seems to be doing a good job dismantling the Rotterdam Republicans.  He destroyed them on the Town level, not he's looking at doing the same on the state level.

You are right on one thing.  Parisi does have the ability to lead.  Unfortunately his leadership is misguided and driven by his own ego.

TD - perhpas we need to recap again

GP turned on his own when he made the reps look like a bunch of squabbling children, by dropping Mertz.  If amedore wasnt happy with rotterdam reps - at least he turned his back on them quietly, and didnt drag people through the mud in the public eye of the gazette readers.  Score one for GA!!

GP couldnt negotiate with rotterdam reps, rotterdam dems, rotterdam voters, etc. etc. etc. etc. and you think that he is going to walk into the state assembley, part the seas and turn water into wine!!!  GP couldnt negotiate with Angelo to keep the golden child in the Rep party and rebuilid it.  GP couldnt get DelGallo to take place in a simple public forum (how did that turn out for him?) and you think he is going to play nice with dems in assembly???  well actually you may have a point there - he sure does play nice with dems now!!! angelo and tonko!!  he sure did negotiate nicely for REMS and thier tax problems with assistance from TONKO!!  1/2 point for GP!

If GP wanted to do right for the taxpayers, be this selfless leader of the people, he wouldnt have had his party try to ram through a taxing district! and how much has be benefited from his political affiliations  -2 points for GP

So let me get this straight...the Town Republican committee chose to not endorse Mertz, because they felt he did not represent them or the party.  The ensuing NNTP challenge was a courageous effort, according to supporters.

Now, the Town Republican committee chooses not to endorse Amedore, because they feel the same things.  More specifically, they have concrete reasons why they feel Amedore is self-serving, and not there for the people.  There is now a primary challenge from Parisi.  Shouldn't all the NNTP support the political process (not Parisi, just the process) since it is the same situation?!

IMHO  Mertz did this to himself.  Wasn't it John Mertz who lost to D Marco, P Tonko and J Suhrada and J Signore, M Martin and B Godlewski?  Hardly a GOP standard bearer.  The joke is really on the DEMS because if Ang pulls this off he will thumb his nose at the Dems and hire GP as his counsel, T Donavon as his admin asst and KR as his press secretary.  What the hell are these Dems thinking???  I tried to tell em.
