So is it safe to say that this vote would have been tabled until more facts were ironed out if GP had not abstained?

JoAnn,

Thank you for the video footage of last Wednesday's meeting.  I was unable to attend.

Several things became very apparent to me in viewing the Town Board members' conduct.

  • Supervisor DelGallo is without doubt out of his element.  In all of the video clips, he is leaning
toward Godlewski seemingly asking for guidance.  Fran is ineffective.  He was used for his money and his name.
  • Bob Godlewski appears to believe that he is the Supervisor.  His behavior of asserting himself and promoting his
position by interrupting and trying to outshout the other Councilpersons is unacceptable.
  • The woman who filled in for Eunice Esposito had no experience in running a town government meeting.  She
found herself in a bad place.
  • Parisi is taking it all in and eating it all up.

If DelGallo doesn't resign within the next 6 months, I will be surprised.  What is the process to fill a Supervisor vacancy?

Media clip 2:  David Bucko of Galesi Corp has had plans for this property for some time.  This is his chance to pressure the
current owners so that Galesi Corp can then buy the property for pennies on the dollar.

And if Galesi (instead of Sync) had purchased the property, there would never have been any resistance from the town.   The same ole, same ole developers get what they want without a battle.  Sync isn't part of the in-crowd (or should I say gumba gangsters), hence the Town has been putting up all kinds of roadblocks.   We didn't see this type of resistance when BI came in without a project and wanted to rezone.

does it really matter? It would have passed at the next meeting any way.

Probably wouldn't change the results but I like to know where our elected officials are on an issue and their reasons for voting that way. Also, if DiLeva and Parisi were no's who really knows if another board member maybe would have changes their opinion over the next two weeks... Or maybe GP was a yes and it's a mutemoot point. (Thank goodness for the gramer police)

...or a moot point.

Plenty of people spoke out against Iovinella's project - their protests, which seemed pretty logical to me, fell on the town board's deaf ears.  Oh...wait...Parisi voted no!

Lets see.... can't vote on Rems issues or Gloub issues.... what else? I guess conflicts of interest don't bother you.

Conflicts of interest only bother me when they are dealt with innappropriately.  If they are ignored, or swept under the rug, you bet they bother me!  If they are acknowledged and dealt with appropriately, then no - I am not bothered.  A conflict of interest doesn't preclude one from acting within a position...it just sets forth basic standards by which one must adhere.

I would say it's a "fine line," but it isn't even! It's pretty simple.

Thank you....I was going to say the same thing! And remember ND voted 'YES'...just like she would have if the Golub vote was tabled for 2 weeks. Just like they will when the vote comes up for larned's apartment proposal or any metroplex proposal.

GP is a lame duck on this this board. Honestly who cares what way he would vote? He is in the minority and won't be running for re-election for that seat in November.

Honestly, he is the only one who has any clue of what has transpired past or present. The rest of them, combined, don't have a clue.  FDG is pretty much non-existent. Bob no change, is rude and clueless and lovin' the power. ND is right out of the soprano's play book who needs to be told that this isn't the schenectady school system and needs some tips on social graces And I think MM is really playing games on his iPod during the meeting. (He used the word 'behoove'...does he know what that word means)

I guess those who feel GP recusing himself is inappropriate didn't see that FDG did the same when his business partner Tim Longo was given a $5000.00 stipend. He's the custodian at the PD.

I didn't know TL was a business partner of FDG's. In what capacity? This is news to me and probably others too. Who knew?

Do we really have any other choice with this crew? It will get alot worse IMHO. We will have two years of taking care of their cronies before the voters get a shot at them agian. As for GP don't be too sure he won't run.
