Villano's sister is now at the PD and her niece is at Town Hall...MG the new Deputy Town Clerk.

Yossi is right about Vellano...she goes along with whoever is in control...as a Republican Board Member she went along with the majority
Dems...elected right after she resisted the passing of the Town Ethics Law with a Republican majority because of her husband's business
dealings with the Town. She voted yes eventually...but only because she would have been the only no and it would have passed anyway.

The barn is on private property and the sign can stay on the barn for as long as the owner wants it to.

So are all campaign signs. I say do away with that law. That is an unconstitutional law anyway, and it hurts newcomers.

I think the campaign thing is NOT personal....once the name is out there you become public 'property'......30 days after election to 'clean up your mess'
signs and all..........we have to live here, no need to trash it up like dollar stores and thrift stores.....

so are you saying that residents or businesses who sport a campaign signs on their personal property can leave them up indefinitely?

It isn't in the "right of way" along the roadway.   It is plastered to the wall like an old Coke sign or John Deere sign.    I know that there is a Carey for Governor sign that has been up since at least 1978 on fence by a road going to Rome, NY.   It is a bit of nostalgia --- no problem.

Well, the expert on everything has spoken. Lets put the signs back up for next fall, in the name if "nostalgia."

Well, then I guess the Judge who I believe was re-elected at the county level this year is OK with his signs still up, too.  Last time I saw, they are on the entrance to the soccer fields over by Jefferson, right across the street from the police station.  You know, the police, the ones who the code states has the power to take down any sign when it is not posted in accordance with the town code, including left placed out for too long.

The soccer fields are on school district property  ... political signs should never have been up on school district property.

There's a difference.  Carey was elected to office.  Santabarbara was humiliated.

And again, since that is against the town code, the enforcement officers should have removed them at first site, not having them sit there now almost 3 months after the election is over.
