....this Board may no longer be there to remember the developer's promises.

I should have said that this Board will definitely NOT be there...with the actions they have taken in the past two months, they are working themselves right out of office.

Does anybody actually know what Bob 'no change' is talking about here? By the time he's done talking, people are just looking at each other shrugging their shoulders! He goes on and on and on and in the end, nobody really knows what he said!

Bob 'no change' and GP were the only two who talked and even though I'm not a fan of GP....he ate 'no change' up and spit him out! And did anyone notice the little 'snicker' from 'no change' when GP wanted to explain his NO  vote?

And I have to say again....where the hell are all the reps? What did they do leave GP out to dry? (not that he can't handle himself) It certainly appears that way. We only see and hear from the reps when it's election time. They do the same thing at the county leg meetings. JS was running it solo! No support that I can see. IMHO

Yes, I'll weigh in on what he was saying.  He said that the developer purchased property expecting a certain profit based on a proposed zone change.  Now the 2 parcels that B.I. owns are essentially wetlands (and the profit is in frogs).  The other parcel, the daughter purchased with ex boyfriend (?) to live there.  The developer didn't get the change they wanted so they asked for the zone that would maximize their profit margin.  The Town had a "responsibility" to make it right for the developer and oblige the rezone.  The fact that it was illegal because it was a zone in conflict with the Comp Plan, no matter!

In his statement, what he actually was implying is that the Town zoned strictly for the benefit of the developer, and the vote affirmed this posture especially since they refused to condition the zoning to protect the residents.  This rationale is also illegal when spot zoning against the Comp Plan's recommended land uses.  What you can take away from this, (that was knew to me), is that the Town has a "responsibilty" to provide real property profits to developers (often at the adjacent resident's expense).  Although I cannot find this in Rotterdam's Codes and Regulations, apparently this is true and many Rotterdam Town Boards' actions seem to bare this out.  Must be nice for developers to avoid all risk and have the Town maximize their properties even if this use is in conflict with the Comp Plan.

You're right Avon and this practice has been going on for years and is one of the main reasons that there are so many water problems in the developments built over the years. It's Rotterdam's unwritten law called builders first and it's been approved by both parties.

I will say it again. Godlewski is an obstructionist who brings nothing to the table except always looking to get something on someone. In his last go-round on the board he was in perfect position as the minority. He simply voted "no". Now it is different and he can't/won't make a decision. And that damn smirk like he knows something you don't just drives me nuts. More proof about how ignorant he really is when it comes to the issues. We are stuck with this boob for 4 years!

With that I agree Bumble. The guy is a real clown. Speaking of Hamburg St. when the round about was being constructed the genius was telling anyone who would listen that the drainage would not work and the flooding would continue to happen in and around the intersection of 7 & 146. He said the state engineer told him that. I couldn't resist stopping in the feild office and asking for myself. He said Bob Who? Just a boob.
