Rotterdam voters have only themselves to blame

Like the U.S. voters did in 2008, Rotterdam’s electorate voted for so-called “change” in 2009. Just like the U.S. voters, Rotterdam voters failed to research the party and candidates they chose in the election, and they are now suffering from “buyer’s remorse.”
Rotterdam voters chose the party that raised their county taxes more than 40 percent over the previous three years, as opposed to the party that kept their town taxes flat over the same period.
Since taking over the Rotterdam government, the Democrats have:
changed the rules to appoint a nonresident to a secretarial position, and raised the position’s pay $10,000 per year!
refused to provide information requested by a town board member of the opposition party;
come to the aid of the town clerk, who illegally notarized several documents;
refused to answer questions of voters at town board meetings.
I am certain this is not the type of change that Rotterdam voters anticipated.

Actually, as I stated in a conversation last night, there's only 1 person on that board that got 50% of the vote, Ms. DiLeva.  1 was not voted in (Parisi) and the rest had less than 50% of their vote.  We didn't choose this, the Republican party chose to go a separate direction than the beliefs of the public.

I predict a lot of seats up for grabs in the next election cycle.

I don't spell check!  Sorry...
If you include "No offense" in a statement, chances are, your statement is offensive.

Rotterdam’s status quo wasn’t worth preserving

    In his March 1 letter, “Rotterdam voters have only themselves to blame,” Timothy J. Gaffney Sr. argues that Rotterdam voters have not gotten the change they voted for in 2009.
    His letter, I think, would be more convincing if he could tell us he was one of the voters who voted for that change. Since he doesn’t, I suspect he is voicing sour grapes.
    If he had voted for the party that won, he could tell us what kind of change he voted for and how those he helped elect have failed to meet his expectations. Since he doesn’t, isn’t his letter at least a little hypocritical and, perhaps, an apologia for a party that doesn’t really want change at all and instead believes the status quo is good enough?

Is Hagaman a village or hamlet within the Town of Rotterdam?

Who is this Elmendorf?  Is he involved in one of the development efforts that will
receive the rubber stamp of approval from the new administration?

Back in the 70's / 80's, Wendell was pastor of Eastern Parkway United Methodist Church

He's written other editorials to the Gazette, http://rotterdamny.info/m-1205873295/s-45/#num51

So, out of curiosity, what is his "beef" with the prior administration?

Probably didn't even write the damn thing. Just a shadow who signs it and mails it to the paper. Just like that guy who lives in Florida and always writes editorials bashing Reps.

He is another big government leftists who thinks any and all Republicans need to end up in a concentration camp, the way Conservative party leaders think. They figure they will be the SS guards shoveling the people on the "wrong side" into the ovens. They didn't finish their history lessons, however. They aren't aware of how many Germans hung in the late 1940s (Although they missed far too many, just ask Helga Schroeter.)

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
