What the hell was Gillen from the plex doing at ROTTERDAM'S town board meeting? What the hell was a representative from the Chamber doing at Rotterdam's town board meeting? And what was a representative from Galesi doing at Rotterdam's town board meeting? Did they lose their way? They should be at the city council and county leg meetings.

They were obviously there as the cheerleaders for the golub expansion. And of course they should be since Mr. Golub is on the board of the plex....right? To the three of them I say.....'stay the hell out of rotterdam'! 'Mind your business. This is between the town and it's residents' Judy Dago, who hasn't been at a town board meeting in years, SUDDENLY is at all of them!

But let me add, that the residents of dolan drive and the residents of Eldorado blew everyone away. They came MORE than prepared! They had everything backed up by FACTS.....and their own attorney! It was great!

Don't get me wrong here. I'm not saying that I am for or against either of these developments. The point is, that the 'cheerleaders' tried to strong arm the process....but the residents came back hard and strong! They won the day!! IMHO

It was sweet!  The residents, along with the attorney, who spoke in opposition to the two projects really nailed it!   The looks on the Town Board members' faces were priceless when two different residents ask how they would feel if these projects were built across the street from their home.

Was that support her or assist her in doing her job.  Who is helping her run the tape machine now that Joe isn't there?

Does anyone other than me have an issue with Golub Chairman Neil Golub having a seat on the Board of Directors
of the Metroplex while having two of his corporate projects (the Administrative offices at College Square and the
warehouse expansion near Dolan Drive) sponsored by the Metroplex (according to their press releases)?  This
seems to me to be a conflict of interest.  Does anyone know if Golub received any taxpayer funding for either of
these projects in the form of "facade grants", low interest loans, or discounted purchase of real estate?  The Golub
Corporation certainly don't need corporate welfare.  The company may be a good corporate citizen in providing jobs
and donating a portion of their earnings to local charities, but, if indeed, it is accepting tax payer funding for its
expansion projects, it would tarnish the image.  IMHO

Brad, are you still monitoring the activities of the Metroplex?

Is there anyone in our local media who has investigated any of this or are they all "in the bag" for the current majority
party in government?

In my opinion, anyone who serves on the Board of the Metroplex or any development agency (including the IDAs)
should be ineligible for receiving any form of sponsorship for a period of 5 years after they end their tenure on /
employment with the authority or agency.

Word on the street is that the Rotterdam IDA may be disbanded and that the Metroplex will take over the economic
development affairs of the town.  If and when this occurs, the decisions re: what development projects will occur in the
town will be made by those at the Metroplex and in county government.

Look for not-for-profits, social services, and other non revenue generating ventures to be moved from the City of
Schenectady "Arts and Farts" District to our town.  Perhaps, there will even be a county landfill located in Rotterdam!

Local control of government is being ceded by the new town administration to the county and (eventually) state.  IMHO

Rotterdam currently is the county landfill - just look around
total lack of code enforcement
trash at the parks
some business' who dont care what their business looks like on the outside - why clean up i'll just be assessed higher
Golub moving contaminated snow from parking lots to residential areas - no one cares
rt 7 to this day still has cut drainage across from the industrial park
chunks of trees hanging from utility lines
psydo sidewalks along curry rd

and the best buy in from our town board is can we get donations for a soup kitchen!

Metroplex head Ray Gillen was there to say how wonderful it would be to have a road in the back yards of 1/3 of the people living in Dolan Drive.  It's a wonderful thing to give Price Chopper / Golub anything they want.  Who cares about all those houses?
