WOW I have never seen the roads in Rotterdam, after a major snowstorm so bad.  Is this the new Republican Town Chairman and Highway Superintendent James Longo's way of settling scores after losing his $16,000 stipend?  Petty politics once again from a leftover Tomassone croney.

My road is plowed. But if there are problems, maybe it is because there is a huge amount of snow all in a brief window. I don't think there is a magic wand yet to remove the snow instantly, but when one is invented, I am sure it will become news here, and I am also sure Democrats will get the credit in the papers.

YO PeepSqueak!!

are you blaming the guy who resigned and is no longer head of hiqhway department? maybe when you reduce a stipend to $3 you get three dollars worth of service.

Has FDG or BG even appointed a new head yet!!

My road was plowed in a timely fashion as always.  The wing man was even smiling apologetically and shrugged his shoulders for dumping the snow back in the driveway after we just cleaned it.  Same crew sat patiently waiting while an idiot neighbor took his sweet time to move his car off the street.  Same idiot snow blows into the street and leaves the mess.  Rotterdam has no idea how considerate our snowplow drivers are compared to the City of Schenectady.  Longo wouldn't take it out on the taxpayer.  Nothing has changed.  We still have the same crew and idiot residents.

he is STILL head of the Highway dept. He resigned as head of the water department when they cut his pay down to a dollar or which ever it was. But he still runs Highway, which is an elected position.

All of the roads I traveled on were all plowed. The side streets needed more attention....but that is nothing unusual. And I still stand....rotterdam has the best plowed roads in the county!! Bringing politics into this is absurd! geeezzzzeee!

Actaully, when I left home this morning, my road was NOT plowed.  And that conduses me, as it's usually one of the first roads plowed since I live on Princetown.  This is a county road and they were not holding up to their end of the bargain.  I bet though that if the Reps were in control of town hall, they would be blamed for it and not pushed off to the highway department.

My road was clear, as was every road I took to work this AM.  As soon as I hit Albany County though, the sh*t hit the fan.  One thing that we can count on is plowed roads in Rotterdam.

Ask around.  You might be surprised to hear what common folk are saying.  This obvious Republican contolled board has no shame in protecting their last bastion of patronage and support.

I will tell you this......it took Jim Longo almost two weeks to fix a water main break in good weather conditions.  God forbid we get another foot of snow tomorrow.  His performance since his "demotion" has been dismal and the guys who drive the trucks will tell you his days are numbered as Hwy Super. Sprinkle in his new political leadership position, a foot of snow and rebellious residents and he will cave.  Mark my words!!!

What do you mean, cave?  He will resign? Not run again? He can't be fired.
