Schenectady cop spurns $20,000 bribe from alleged drunk driver

SCHENECTADY -- Following the arrest and imprisonment of a few rogue cops, city leaders promised to do a better job of screening potential new police recruits.


And the recent actions of one of the citys officers, who has four years on the force, is proof positive that those heightened hiring standards may be starting to pay off.
