Without naming names and businesses....They should all be ashamed of themselves for not letting these baseball fields for not coming to fruition before now. It was these 'people' who would NOT let the rep administration 'look favorable' in the eyes of the residents by working with them. So ta' hell with the kids. 'THEY' should all be ashamed of themselves. Good lesson to teach the kids, huh?

Now that train of thought is only if you favor 'parks'.... My personal view.....I don't want my tax dollars going to pay for baseball, soccer, skate board, bmx or any other park. GOT IT??
Parks could never make this sh!thole shine! Parks could never cover the corruption! The schools and the cops get enough of my money while the town is falling down around itself.

Dems...reps....they are just two sides of the same coin! The dems just allow themselves to be played....by the 'nameless'.

Notice it says the existing fields used by Rotterdam Little League "would" be move to a permanent location.  That leads me to believe that Mr. Larned "would" move the fields only IF he receives the zoning change.  Will Mr. Delgallo be able to persuade Mr. Larned to move the fields WITHOUT getting the zoning changed to what Mr. Larned wants to use it for?  

That is literally the one million dollar question.

Let's see.  Let us look at the surrounding area.  We have a gravel pit on one side of Burdeck, an apartment complex across the street from the gravel pit, a few residential homes up to the Pricetown road Burdeck intersection.  We have residential on the short end of Princetown Road, and a professional office building.  We have a BMX track, a Mobil gas station, a car wash.  We have a sewage treatment plant, traffic safety, and brand new apartment complex on Cambell Ave.  So yes, I guess anything you develop on that property would fit right in with the ad hoc spot zoning in which Rotterdam is so famous for.

I also find it amazing that this board is having public hearings for zoning changes for Larned and Iovanella within the first 4 meetings of this new administration.  They are setting the tone for the Town, and more specific this administrations priorities, wouldn't you say?

250 is nothing they want 400 units
250 in the triangle
another 150 across burdeck in in the sand pits
and we will get the 400 saps to pay for the sewer line and repair the sewer plant - forever

These fields have been planned for months or years. How is the new liberal Democrat/Conservative party board all of a sudden responsible for the kids getting fields that Judy Dagostino and her whole family sold in the first place to Larned for peanuts (and unsuccessfully tried to whack up among themselves by the way.)??? And what happened to that swamp land on Guilderland ave. with the ACOE wetlands on it that Gillian was in denial about (actually he just lied to the gullible county legislators who have zero real world experience with such matters between them.)?? That was all a sham too, a carrot and stick for political reasons.

Now maybe there will be some fields in perpetuity, and that would be good for the kids, but ALL kids in the town need a place to play. All kids, handicapped, not handicapped, make and female, organized or not organized, should have a place to play. Regardless of whether their coaches and parents have a political line to trade off to the left wing Democrats for a park and few hundred thousand of improvements...Wouldn't it be nice if the political power-brokers would care about all of them, and not just their own?

You can't talk sense to people that have rocks in their heads and live in their little world where they exist in a vacuum. And that is exactly what you run up against when you deal with the "connected" people in this one horse town. It is very sad. But never surprising when you see that the same people lie, are bad on their word and use bully tactics.

Be careful Tippy.  With this newly elected Town Board, if this deal goes through, these relocated LL fields may be named - Timothy (middle initial) Larned Park.  He will be immortalized in Rotterdam infamy.

Anyone with half a brain can see that this was a poor investment on larned's part. (thanks to judy dago who really stuck it to him). ANYTHING on that triangle or surrounding area will become a safety and traffic hazard. Not to mention the strain on rotterdam's already inadequate infrastructure!

Is there a need?
Can the schools carry the influx of new kids?
Is our fire protection adequate to take on the extra load?
Will REMS be able to handle the increase in emergency calls?
How much more will it cost is road repairs?
Will an air quality test be done for that area?
Will a traffic study be done for that area?
Will the railroad tracks be taken into consideration?
Will the run off effect the aquifer?
How much of our tax dollars will it cost us? eg: grants, metroplex
Are there plans drawn up that the residents can look at?
Will this include retail?
Does anyone think this will help make this sh!thole shine?
And will the fireman continue to use their 'training facility'?

Is there a need?   Nope - plenty of housing available around town, great time to buy and fix up, are all the town house condo complexes at max occupancy? NO!
Can the schools carry the influx of new kids? Not without an increase in taxes

How much of our tax dollars will it cost us? eg: grants, metroplex : at minimum 300,000+ to cover lanerds loss in selling land for 260,000, and plus the 260,000 the county is spending on land - so 600,000 at minimum
Are there plans drawn up that the residents can look at? hell no - they will just try and shove as much in as they can

Is there existing or future demand for the additional housing?
To who will the housing be marketed (seniors, low-income, etc.)?
Is there existing or future demand for the commercial space?
Will merchants who occupy other commercial space relocate resulting in (more) vacant storefronts around town?
Can the sewer lines (that are insufficient to support the families who reside at the old base on Route 7)
    support the additional demand?
Will Larned receive tax incentives (e.g., PILOT, etc.)?
Will the increase in the property tax base reduce the taxes that I pay on my home?

Will Larned receive $600K of taxpayer money for little league fields that the residents aren't even requesting.  YES!  

It's Sooooooooooooooooooo dirty.  Sooooooooooooooo Schenectady County.
