They got duped into serving in a war where we didn't belong.  WE were not attacked by Iraq.  We were deliberately lied to.  These are VERY BRAVE kids who are suffering everyday.  You want to support them stand with the rest of us to bring them home.  They went voluntarily to a war we had no business starting.  Yes very brave kids--I've been to Walter Reed--I threw up on my way out the door--sick at the state those kids were in.  You think thank you is enough?  Get them counseling and jobs if they comeback with their limbs.  Why aren't you guys all over that idea?

MT--I would never include you in that group--because I think you get this even if you don't want to say it.

WE were never attacked by Germany either, THEY were busy conquering Europe.  Does that mean my grandfather and his brothers were "duped" into killing innocent Germans? You're sick in the head boomer.  Nobody's saying we are not obligated to help pick up the pieces both physically and emotionally, of our brave men and women for having the courage to serve.   The reason we have gone off topic on this thread is because your reply to GB's post that "all veterans are for peace".  And you came back with the idiotic reply of "NOt exactly GB.  Some soldiers are just violent in nature and love the fight."  A pretty outrageous comment coming from a self described compassionate lib.

Are firefighters consider to be "duped" into battling a fire started by an arson? Or only if the arson is a Republican?

-I've been to Walter Reed--

Have you also visited the family of the beheaded Daniel Pearl? Did you also visit the families of the american solders that were beheaded, burned and hung out for public viewing? Did you also visit the families that lost loved ones on 911? Did you also visit the families that lost their loved one when the Cole was attacked, which was during the Clinton years?

These young men and women knew exactly what a sick enemy they would be fighting. You also are forgetting that they 'bravely' chose to enlist. They chose to follow the direction of the United States.

To portray them as victims instead of heroes is shameful and disgraceful!!

You are clearly just another modern day Jane Fonda and should be ashamed of yourself. And supporting the idea of having someone (EE) who has defiled an elected government position, preside over 'their' honored day/parade.....is just another slap in the face to our men and women in uniform. DISGRACEFUL AND SHAMEFUL!

Cicero is right.....you are a lunatic!!

No Bumble I haven't met the others.  I was at Walter Reed visiting because I had someone there.  Don't be such an arrogant p-tz.

Did I visit with Marianne Pearl--NO. I HAVE spolen to his father Dr. Judea Pearl and his colleague Dr. Akbar Ahmed from American University who go around the country having begun the Daniel Pearl Foundation for Muslim-Jewish Dialogue.  We are working hard to bring them both here.  Maybe you would like to contribute some bucks toward this event.  And I can tell you his best friend Asra Nomani was here last month.  She was with Daniel Pearl the day he was kidnapped.  Yes I met her and spoke to her at length.  Maybe you guys should get your heads out of your a$$ and realize there are other people in the world besides you and your right wing thinking.

And you're right--these kids have chosen to bravely enlist and take their direction from the US (after they have been brainwashed) But then they forget to take care of them.  I sent my relative his body armour. And you bet he's a hero.  The only people around here who are shameful and disgraceful and slap those kids in the face are you and your soul mate Cissy.

Boomer,

"Take their direction from the US (after they have been brainwashed)"

I have not read all your posts, but already I see you as the most dangerous among us.  You disgust me.  This is a big world, your views of the United States are shared by many, please go join them; honestly, it's where you belong.

If you are Jewish, then you bring shame to People of Israel!  In your ignorance and hatred for the American way of life, you show exactly why we will never all be able to get along.

Zorro - you're so busy wrapping yourself up in the flag you forget about the rest of us Americans.  GI Jane, an Emma Willard graduate, made out just fine thank you.  I neither need your approval nor want it.  There are PLENTY of folks who agree and support my thinking...and lots live right here in the Capital Distrit.

My suggestion to you and Bumble is that you read something else besides what Sarah Palin reads....and we all know the answer to that one!

Boom, do you wanna know why many many many Americans DON'T agree with YOU?  It's not because of your politics; it's because of your attitude toward American soldiers.  Your "some are violent by nature and love to fight" comment tells me little about your politics, but much about your character.  Your portentous attitude about how Veterans for Peace are somehow a nobler soldier than the soldier that is proud of how effective he/she was in combat really shows your 1960's flag burning, pot smoking, anti-military self.

Cis-you're full of crap.  I have a family member who did two tours in Iraq.  So you don't know $hit.  While you losers are busy "thanking them for serving" we deal with the aftermath.  So blow your right wing BS at somebody else.  You would rather see a country destroyed with its people and ignore what happens to our own patriotic citizens.  Right let's have a kid lead the parade who is missing limbs or brain damaged so that you right wingers can get off on the sentiment of the day.  You're nothing but a war-monger and a not so smart one either.

I didn't mean a poor soldier....I dont think the expression is coming off properly through the typing.....

I meant by folks stating "You poor sad soldier. You did have to do an awful thing." there by pointing out over and over and over that
they will never be the person they were before and they will remain as damaged goods.....

and you are right the aftermath is BAD.....but,,we are what we are as human animals.......we choose, we live, we cry, we laugh, we die....
as for being a war monger,,,,,I'm sure you are enjoying our freedom together for this typing exposition.....

and I will say.....Good job soldiers....because I can......and because they choose......

Nobody said VFP were nobler except you.  VFP is NOW accepted by ALL Veterans groups.  They meet here at the VA hospital.  And you are such a pompous a$$ and you don't know jack.  First I NEVER saw anyone burn a flag or would have backed that you a$$ and secondly I NEVER to this day EVER smoked pot.  So you are guilty of just what I thought--stereo typing everyone else who does not look like you, or pray like you, or believe in what you do.  You opinion is just that opinion.  Like I said I purchased body armor for my relative.  Did you?

And btw you no nothing about the military because you don't even understand VFP.
