At least now he can go for an endorsement from the reps and if denied, he can just primary for it.....and will probably win the primary and get 2 lines on the ballot. NNTP and the rep line!  I call it brilliant political positioning. IMHO

I am not an enrolled Rep, nor am I a wannabe politician.  I can't say that more clearly.

His switch bothers me because they are bamboozling the public who trusts them implicitly, without regard for their unsavory intentions.

Bumble ~ that makes sense ~ but from what I hear the Reps like McGarry.  BM is clearly emerging as the leader of the NNTP.

Now that he's a Rep ~ and apparently working with the local GOP ~ you do have a point about "their unsavory intentions"

We'll have to watch and see.

If he switched to the democratic party then you could have a case against where he stands politically..

fact of the matter is that if he wants a future in politics he needs to be enrolled in a major party.  smart move, he can get endorsements and primary.  

This is great news!  I welcome him to the GOP!  

He may be a registered rep now, but I don't see him embracing the party in it's current state of affairs....if ever. The press release made it very clear that he will still be a driving force for the NNTP. He has clearly not abandoned his conservative ideology. Remember....he was a con 24 hours ago.

Nothing appears to have changed except the letter after his name (R). But time will tell.

The repubs problem is exactly that - NO ONE is embracing the repub party as it is.  

they barely have a committee to support a candidate, no leadership, no candidates, no money - All they have is a handful of proxies

only in schenectady county could the repubulican party be in such disarray - when all across the country tea parties and republicans are gaining strength and momentum - NOPE not here in schdy/rotterdam.  HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA

Who are their saviors, Parisi? the Salamones? these people have so much baggage already they might as well just move to another state and start over.

And even with that I wouldnt want to be a Democrat running in an election this year.

LS ~ I have been as critical against last years Reps as anyone ~ but ~ a lot of those faces are gone.  Tommasone, Mertz, Parisi, Salamones, Surhada, and the rest are pretty much out of it.  IF Longo is able to put a new face on the party, I'll predict a Rep board by December of 2011.
